Title: HFS with reverse proxy on Apache
Post by: 1234filip on October 18, 2019, 02:45:40 PM
Hello!
I managed to setup HFS running on port 5050 and Apache as a reverse proxy with an exposed port 80. It works like a charm until I decide to add authentication to the reverse proxy. I can access the HFS site but it immediately re-prompts me with the authentication(the reverse proxy authentication). I know that this is a problem with HFS because when running it with a standard HTML site, it works well. I'm using AuthType Basic.

I will try to make it work. My guess is that because HFS also uses Apache for authentication it somehow collides with the cookies of the reverse proxy. And HFS is exactly what I need, all those OwnCloud and NextCloud apps are just too advanced. HFS is the perfect thing for hosting my external hard drive on the internet.
