Can some help me understand how to fix this or why it is...
i see one user who is leeching 5 files of the exact same file...
should it not appear 1 user for the file, i don't understand why some users it spams multiple downloads for exact IP and file yet others who leech only displays one download
if you look closely it shows he is leeching a file 5 times all at different amounts...
is this caused by download accelerator being turned off? cuz i tried with it on or off and same result.

here is a thread in regards to me having problems with limits.

so i've removed limits and HFS works great when there are no limits in place.

my goal is to allow 10 ppl to leech at any given time and allow only 1 download PER IP. but when i try this it causes HFS to load the site garbled

Using Beta #250 on win2k8
i tried putting limits, like 1 per IP but when i do this it breaks HFS. I've tried some combinations on the limits

why are there multiple downloads from same file on same IP??

Check you limits setting:  Menu -> Limits -> max simultaneous downloads from single address.  If you set that at 'disabled' (no limits) or anything higher than '1' you will see that behavior.  Also from the same menu, you can enable 'prevent leeching' (download accelerators).

If a user is using a download accelerator and it is set to download a file from as many connections as it can, you will see that behavior if your HFS is configured to allow it.  As for the file being downloaded in 5 different pieces, that's the way a download accelerator works.  As for one download connection for another IP that is more common when a browser is used for the download.

If you removed limits, the menu limit items will all show as 'disabled'.  That means you have HFS set wide open (no limits).

Try this:
max simultaneous downloads - 10
max simultaneous downloads from single address - 1
max simultaneous addresses - 10
max simultaneous addresses downloading - 10

I never heard of that happening.  Maybe re-load a fresh copy of HFS.

Try this:
max simultaneous downloads - 10
max simultaneous downloads from single address - 1
max simultaneous addresses - 10
max simultaneous addresses downloading - 10

i think he needs only first 2 limits.
limit4 is implied by limit3, and limit3 is actually just limiting browsing to those 10 guys who are also downloading.
i guess he may not want to limit browsing, but just downloading, so i suggest to set just limit1 and limit2 suggested by maverick,
but for your information i must say that limit2 and option  "prevent leeching" are just the same thing.

your HFS looks garbled only when you limit "connections".
you must limit "downloads" and you won't have problem ;)
