Everything else / Music on demand [free]
« on: August 31, 2007, 09:42:29 AM »
Hosted and streamed from France.
"Half way" legal : they did pull through one deal with the French professional association collecting payments of artists’ rights and distributing the rights to the original authors, composers and publishers.

Hope this one will live  ;)

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / DivX streaming from HFS
« on: June 07, 2007, 10:12:04 AM »
Hello to U all !

From a recent article in french newpapers I found out about the latest release of the well known DivX 6.6. [dated may 31st]

So here it goes ...  and it’s full of goodies !

First of all in order to complete all the fun hereafter,  go to the officiel DivX site and download the following : DivX Player and DivX Doctor and check your codecs - there are freeware :

http://www.divx.com/

http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/codec/

http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/player/

http://labs.divx.com/DrDivX

Once installed you are ready to go ... what’s exciting is to connect at first to sites such as :

http://joox.net/

where u’ll enjoy full DivX video on demand experience for free... quite cool I must say !

And for other thrills, u’ll need  register to the recommanded community mentionned by DivX.com  http://www.divx.com/community/

mainly :

http://stage6.divx.com/

Woaouuuuu !

Note : with my Isp provider I found out it’s quicker to start viewing any DivX movie then stop viewing |pause] when the buffering is done and then copy/rename the file ans stop viewing

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / [closed] visible but not accessible ?
« on: March 26, 2007, 03:30:03 PM »
Hello all !

I ve been trying to get some directories on the main page of Hfs visible to all but accessible to some.
Like to know the magic formula because attempted combinations of user accounts + set user pass won't work.

example : I like to show all visitors there is a Photo Workshop - Directory - [knowingly not accessible to all].

many thanks

Everything else / [closed] standards Html/CSS for IE7 & Mozilla ?
« on: February 15, 2007, 09:05:51 AM »
Hello to U all !

Has anyone got an idea where to find "standards and versionning" of IE7 and Mozilla ? (i.e looking precisely for HTML 4.0.1 et CSS 2.0)

That would help me a lot. Many thanks !

Hello to the forum !

Was reading this topic called "japanese ? russian ? chinese ?" and I thought  Rejetto why not using flags ? so we would know right out a couple of things from members : mother tongue, time table, etc.

Here is an example from an other php forum :

Everything else / cool little m3u generator
« on: October 23, 2006, 01:50:00 PM »
Hello,

I think I did mention it once by pm to ledufe, still hope someone else will enjoy it.

The case i had to solve was for a friend with a very poor dsl connexion not being able to listen songs from different bands on commercial sites. (Virgin or you name it ....)

Web browsing even through one page to the another is painstaking for him (64 Ko).

His musical taste is different from what I want to keep in my media librairy. Thus, songs he wants to hear are thrown away with no special order in a set directory.

Now to the point : once in a while I use this software "Playboyster" to get him an updated m3u file that is gets instantly on HFS ! (works wonder !)

It's also shareware  ;)

Everything else / Compatibility with realtime videostreaming mms://
« on: October 20, 2006, 09:32:06 AM »
Hello to the forum,

I may be too ambitious, then I found out this little streaming video server called Procast which can run on your own computer.

Let aside port and router problems that may arise between two Pc on the same Lan or only one pc hosting both HFS and Procast (or a web server) I’m looking first if the description underneath could suit HFS Templates ?

In any case, the use of Procast seems exciting when you look in a way to diffuse real time video stream such a Ip camera, DV recorder, TV card, webcam... (I'm sure you would all be glad to have a peek at the fabulous Alpes mountains from Lyon ;) )

Here is the brief description :

Two ways of implementation are possible  :

· Integration of a direct video stream can be done through a direct link to the ip adress : it only consist of  callng a video stream through hypertext link.
Exemple de code : <A href="mms://mon_ip:port">Read my video</A>

· Far complexe but far more interesting is to intégrate within the web page embed tags as follow :

ALIGN : RIGHT, LEFT, TOP, BOTTOM.  BORDER : WIDTH : HEIGHT :
SRC : URL complete description of file location. In your case "mms://xx.xx.xx.xx:port"
ex : mms://82.xxx.xx..xxx: yyyy

- example for Real (rm) with  <embed>
<embed src="video.rm" widht=320 height=240 autostart="true">

details of html code :

- Windows Media : (.wmv / .wma / .avi / .mpg / .mp3 / .mp4) you mus have  :
<EMBED TYPE="application/x-mplayer2" SRC="mms://my_ip:port"
WIDTH="320" HEIGHT="240" AUTOSTART="1" SHOWCONTROLS="0">
</EMBED>

Real (.ram / .rm / .smi / .mp4 / .mp3 / .mpg / .rm)
<EMBED TYPE="audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin" SRC="http://myserver.com/media/video.rm"WIDTH="320" HEIGHT="240" AUTOSTART="true" CONTROLS="imagewindow" CONSOLE="video">
</EMBED>

Quicktime (.qtl / .mov / .mpg / .mp4 / .mp3)
<EMBED TYPE="video/quicktime " SRC="mms://my_ip:port?embed"
WIDTH="320" HEIGHT="240" AUTOPLAY="true" CONTROLLER="false">
</EMBED>
For automatic display you should indicate
AUTOSTART="1" for Windows Media
AUTOPLAY="true" for Quicktime
AUTOSTART="true" pfor Real

Procast is in beta version – and all in French ! – so that’s all I could get for now
Many thanks for your opinion
