Is there any way make the log file persistent? I'm not seeing it. I see some downloads on the icon, and would like to know what they were.

Hi rejetto,

I think I've found the answer. It lies in the change MS made to the Default Program scheme from Vista on. Now the defaults are located in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Associations\UrlAssociations\http|https, and use Progid's to drive the command (mine says "Opera Protocol". So while my HKCR says Chrome, Windows never checks it. I suppose that is why Opera doesn't bother to change it, but that makes for confusion.

That's just the problem. Opera is the system default for http and https.

Hi,

For some reason, when I click Open in browser, or even when I click on this forum link under Web pages, HFS opens my old default browser, Chrome, rather than the current, Opera.

The main URL is https. But the system opens https shortcuts in Opera.

I'm on Win7 x64, using the secure mashup of HFS, which I got from this forum.

Hi,

I just set up HFS yesterday, in order to let a friend access some videos. (With both the latest stable and latest beta, the Self test said it wasn't working, but I found out it actually was.)

She downloaded one video last night. I shut down for the night. Today I came in after several hours up, to find 59 hits on the Tray icon bubble. They weren't logged. There were no further downloads.

I'm wondering how I could have so many hits. I'm using a high and irregular port number, and no one else knows about my HFS set up.

Thanks for any insight. HFS is a wonderful app indeed.

I don't have beta updates checked, but everyday lately I've been getting queried on downloading the latest builds. I'd like to be in on updates, but I don't want to follow the builds on a daily basis.

Let me synopsize the problem for clarity. I was using the Add to HFS action to add files to my virtual folder. At least when there's only one virtual folder, this works well, I found. The problem was that Windows kept asking me which program I wanted to use to execute the command, based on the file's filename extension, so an extra step was involved.

Then in my reading I found that the command is meant for .vfs files only. Now the whole thing made sense.

I do, however, think an Add File to HFS command for any file type would be a nice enhancement.

I see. The option is for loading .vfs file configurations. I thought it was to make individual files available (which indeed it does, after going through the Choose Application dialog).
