I have tried both of those things and the hfs ico still appears.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated, what would be excellent would be a way to just turn it off period.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / spiders

I have done a bit of research on how search engines spider sites.
I discovered that they make rapid connections unless you tell them not to.
I use a robots.txt file on my site which can be used to slow those down or tell the bots not to index your site at all.
I used to just block all the ip's that did that until I ran a whois lookup on some of the addresses and found out they were search engines. I unblocked the search engines ( I may regret that over time as my traffic increases ) so they could spider the site.

Hope this helps clear up the whys of some of your rapid connection attempts.

I understand, that answers my question.
I find it interesting that people don't use it for legal purposes.
In my usage of HFS I find it's a whole lot easier to update this as I come across new content.
I also like the comment feature for whatever new links I add, while the comment field could be a bit more html friendly it does allow for some interesting additions with out having to modify the template.

I was distressed to discover that the site looks totally different in Internet explorer, not sure why though.
The tiled background doesn't show up and neither do the other two graphics I used. Microcrap strikes again! :evil:
