Well, guess it's all in the title... :)
I just love editing resources and I would be happy to translate HFS...
Tell me if you are interested!

i guess french and dutch users are interested :)
anyway, translating HFS at the moment is unpractical.
few people did it, in russian and chinese.
in the future HFS will be easier to translate.

Right... well I need a french and a dutch version now... or soon...   :-\

I know, but I'm also a big fan of Resource Hacker, and I *really* don't care if it's practical or not...
The problem: the hfs.exe file seems to be compressed with an exe compressor, so I can't edit it with Resource Hacker!
Could you supply me a non compressed exe file?
I guess i'd be able to finish the french translation in a few days!

just uncompress it yourself, it is free ;) http://upx.sf.net
;D Cool! Translation will start in 5min...  :)
Would you like me to translate the manual too?

sure! a french manual is already started. the wiki (where the documents are kept) is OPEN. just create an account and you can edit what you want, as you wish, you don't need my supervision. Anyway, you can ask on the forum or also refer to Peter http://www.rejetto.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=2176
he is the main curator of the documentation, very active, professional and kind.

anyway, you will find not all strings are in resources.

Great, I'll take a look at that after translating the program!

Hmm, that could be a real pain...
Should I use a hexeditor to edit these strings, or can you suggest me another workaround?

an hexeditor may be enough, yes, but unsure.
other people changed the source and recompiled it.

Well, I don't know how to do that!
Maybe somebody can teach me how to do this...

1. download sources from the download page
2. download delphi 6
3. edit sources (they are just text files)
4. just a couple of click inside delphi to compile, you got the exe file

Cool!
I guess I'll be able to do that.

Is this more practical than using Resource Hacker?
Do you suggest translating the entire program this way?

i can't say if translating a software is more practical using method A or B.
but since new versions are published weekly, with bugs fixed, i would suggest you to find a method that will grant you to easily apply to the new version most of the work you will do with this version.

OK, I will figure out a pratical way to translate HFS...
I will start translating today, and I will be back in a few days with the french version or sooner if I'll stumble on any difficulties concerning the translation...
Thanks for helping me!  :)
