Title: Testing build #254 - 257 mime Problem
Post by: maverick on March 01, 2010, 08:42:32 PM
The last build I was using without problems was 253.

With all the problems reported in some of the newer builds I decided to hold-off until today and tried build 257.  I have a few problems to report and I checked back to when they started.  It was with 254.

I tested using both my template and the default template for 257:

1.  File name and Folder name font colors are wrong.  Both the File & Folder names are white (active & visited) in my custom template but now the active color is blue and visited is purple.   Your default template shows the blue and purple colors as well.

2.  All File name and Folder name links are underlined when they shouldn't be.  Active is blue and visited looks like black in both my custom template and your default template.  I don't use underlined links.

3.  File name and Folder name fonts are in bold in my custom template but aren't in bold when using these builds.

very strange.
i never met a problem like this lately.
but i just tested #257 with "temporarily reset options" and the default template worked fine.
what you say makes me think the css was not loaded by the browser.

1. if you start #253, do the problems go away?
2. could you test by usingn "temporarily reset options" ? (debug menu)

No problems with #253.  Just tested again.  As I mentioned before problems started with #254.

In #257 I used temporary reset options and the default template came up.  It was perfect.
Now that I see a good default template (I haven't looked at it for a while), there are other things that I didn't mention above that weren't working properly:

1.  No background or body colors
2.  No columns
3.  No boxed user name, search or Menu
4.  No margins, padding, borders etc
5.  Alignment problem

I tested #257 with the following browsers and they both have the same problems that started with #254:
- Firefox 3.07,  Opera 10.10

I works fine and no problems with:
- IE 6.0 SP2  ???   ???

Hi maverick
You could try adding the 'web developper 1.1.8' addon to your firefox to see html and css errors.
What you describe is something so strange that i can't even believe that hfs is able to do it! :-)

In #257 I used temporary reset options and the default template came up.  It was perfect.

this is a big clue.
it may be useful to know more on why the style is not loaded.
it's a limit option you set. i'm almost sure.
do you have any "max connections..." options enabled? they are evil.
if yes, we found what's wrong.
if not, continue.
try posting "debug > show customized options".
try disabling "log > what > only served requests", then reload the page and see if you find errors in your log.

Below is a screenshot of my limits (which hasn't changed in a very long time) as well a a zip containing my customized options.  I also disabled only served requests in my log.  There were no errors.

would you please try to disable those 2 limits ? trying to narrow suspicions.
another good test would be for me to access your hfs. could you give me an access privately?

I disabled all limits which basically puts limits back to the temporarily reset options setting in debug but there is No change.  That tells me it is not a limit problem.

maverick would be enchanted that we add him this mime type (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcel_Marceau) in the new build 258.
