so it seems the solution to this is to remove all limits.
i did leave 2, max simul downloads 10 and max connections is 10
with those two settings my page now loads properly.

so it does not appear to be template related but rather something in the menu>limits

I was curious but is there a sticky thread that lists known issues and work arounds for them?
could be helpful or is that considered the FAQ?

so i see i get the erro code 200 which is OK.

has screenshot of my exact problem
and i also removed the first line as suggested. i reload the .tpl but problem persists
and i went into menu and reset limits

after readin the thread above u mention to use a diff template.
i'm not sure i understand what a diff template does. i think i know how to place it and such but i['m missing the purpose of it? is it only for hidden files? does a diff template work for only specific folders where you put it in. i read the wiki but was left confused.

I think this has been mentioned before but i could not find a resolution for the custom templates problem

for me when i use those fancy rawr and thunderchicken templates, they start fine but after surfing several times i notice icon and images won't load, like the .css file did nto run and everything is wacky on screen and its all white!

please if someone could help as my search turned up little for my odd situation

i'll install rawr, or thunderchicken or any of those fancy templates.

they are very nice and i love the search function on them which is main reason why i want to use them but....
sometimes the page won't load properly, graphics dont load
i hit refresh and somtimes it loads completely
i hit refresh again and some of the page loads

i tested this from multiple computers, multiple IP address from different ISP
and the problem persists

a simple fix,, revert to a simple template, like hfs damn, beta black or the default template.

who do i persue for fix on this, the developer of the template, rawr? or hfs?

is it hfs? i dont think so because if i use default template i never see the refresh or page loads improper

my guess is the custom fancy templates by rawr are not completely compatible with beta 249

and you can use a non beta as those templates require beta builds.

if someone could point me in the right direction it would be helpful as i'd really like to get this rawr template to work or in fact a template with a good search function in ti would suffice.

i'm not very good at working with .css and html so i'm hoping its just a question that templates need updating for latest beta.

i notice problems while no is connected, i gota wide open bandwidth so i know it can't be isp or dns issues, other websites refresh perfectly. i'm sure its template that needs correcting imo

i did a search and found 2 ppl with same issues.

i'm having the exact same problem
the moment i use a custom tem plate like thunderchicken or terayon, rawr...
the page will not load correctly

i tried from another computer on a different ISP and same problem

i tried it on my iphone 3g, another network same thing

simple workaround is to use the default template or something very watered down
those fancy templates, like rawr and thunder chicken may not be compatible anymore and over and over they dont load correctly.
if i hit the refresh button enough times it eventually loads proper.

i;'m running beta 249 and i'm seeing this often.
i'll refresh and it comes out odd.
i've tried it with default parameters, out of the box, problem persists.
i then tried limiting connections and such, trying different things but same thing.
I have 2 different ISPs, hence two ip addresses i can play with and externally the page wont load right, it seems to not load header logo sometimes.

i've tried the rawr, thunder chicken and i see this often. but if i use the default hfs template, or hfs damn, and beta black i rarely see the problem

it seems to be related to the bigger templates like rawr n such.

when i use hfs damn or the basic one thats comes with hfs, i dont think i've ever seen it not load right.

so perhaps the themes are not compatible with 249 and such.
maybe dunno just throwing ideas out there but i'm clearly seeing the problem and i've tried various combinations.

i'll test it more, but i think it happens more locally then from an external ip.

ok i checked about 5min later and file finally appeared.
it does not seem to be instant

i then click save and it creates a file named hfs.txt and has this in it:

i dont see the file being created...does it save file after 30min or something??
i would think it would be instant and updated line by line as downloads happen


i'm using this for my apache log capture but alas i'm not familiar with apache
does anyone have apache strings handy? can more be added or is this the limit?

that my capture above...but i'm not seeing what the % symbols add up to

I'm a heavy user of IIS7
one feature of IIs7 i find help is the IIs logs it generates from users hitting my website
i then run a freeware app called analog which helps me dtermine how much traffic and how much has been downloaded. quite informative to parse the logs so one can see whats really going on.

here is a small cut n paste of my iis7 logs to give you an idea

the iis log captures all data you need which can be parsed via a 3rd aprty app

it would be helpful if you could add this feature and perhaps put it in W3C format so we could use already established apps to parse the data.

because currently its like driving blind with HFS, there seems to be no log or any way to know and or capture history for bandwidth and traffic which is crucial when hosting files on the net. at least for me it is. as it lets me plan ahead, this way i can know how much bandwidth to allocate.

i'm having difficulty in getting HFS to work alongside IIS 7.0

I run a windows server 2008 and host multiple IIs 7 websites

I've read in detail the above suggestions. tried several ports. gone into my router and done port mapping.

but I simply can not get HFS to work when IIS 7 is running.

if i disable IIS7 then HFS seems to work but the moment i turn on iis7 hfs will not work.

I simply MUST have IIs 7 running, there is no option to turn it off, part of my business requires i have iis7 to host my websites which i've been doing for years.

i run the self test and it comes back good but from a web browser it times out. i check the port and its visible on the net.

i'm simply dumb founded i can not make HFS work while IIS is running and my guess is as follows:

because HFS needs my static IP address, it conflicts with the IP address used by IIS so the only way i can see this working is if I get another static IP address and put HFS on that one.

IIS will bind to the static IP address hence any other app that runs from same ip address will conflict with iis
