Ok Already.  I like the sofware.  I'll donate now. ;D

ARRRGGGHH!  Freaking COOKIES! >:(

I cleared my cache but not the cookies. ;D

I have to do some work on this template but apparently the cookies also confused the default template somehow!

All is fine now, except for the template.

The ini files are different, but similar.  Like I was somewhat saying, I don't think that the problem is actually HFS because HFS works fine if I use a different subdomain like:
http://ftp.techneurosa.com:86/
or
http://irc.techneurosa.com:86/
or even no subdomain like:
http://techneurosa.com:86
or even a different domain altogether like:
http://www.80063r.com:86

but http://www.techneurosa.com:86
always times out.  But HFS gets the "Request" in the connections window.

I am using HFS 2.3 beta build 241

Is it possible that someone hijacked my subdomain?

4
My www. subdomain won't load a page.  It gets either 1 or 2 connections and then the browser times out and shows a blank page.  The other subdomains work (ftp. irc.)  I closed my browser, cleared my cache, and flushed the dns, but HFS still shows just a status of "Requesting" and nothing more.  All three HFS instances running are affected.  I closed HFS and reopened and loaded the default template.  I checked my DNS provider for the proper IP.

Everything seems fine.  How did I break it and how do I fix it?

quotings CAN be grouped.

you must do this way {.cut|3|4|var=#tn.}

Thank you, that covers my other questions.

I will keep trying.

6
i think that using the "out" parameter it should wait for the process to complete, or it could not give you the output!

YES!  I just confirmed that using the "out=" parameter does pause the execution until the process is complete.

With this program "ezthumbs.exe", it provides no output, so the #variable after "out=" will serve as a dummy variable.

Thank you.  That is what I needed to know.

By the way, my exec macro looks like this:
Code: [Select]
{.exec|ezthumbs.exe|{:"C:\Users\80063r\Pictures\Screen Shots\UltraEdit_Environment_2.jpg" /D="C:\Users\80063r\Pictures\Screen Shots\thumbs" /P=_tn /W=100 /H=100 /Z=ShrinkToFit /F=Nearest /Q=70 /B=0 /C=0 /S=0 /R=0 /Log=tnlog:}|out=#tn.}
EasyThumbs is also Freeware.

Have a look at this.  I thought that quoting could be grouped. Like {:.....{:.....:}.....:}.  But apparently it can't.
Wouldn't it be nice if this script would "add to log" 10 times at 1 second intervals.  If quoting was grouped, then I could do what I wanted to as the first post requests.
Code: [Select]
{.focus.}
{.set|#x|1.}
{.set|#y|10.}
{.while|#y|{:{.dec|#y.}{.set|#flag|1.}{.while|#x|{:{.if|#flag|{:{.set|#flag|0.}{.add to log|RAGNAGNA.}:}/if.}:}|timeout=1/while.}:}.}
This is not what I intended.
Code: [Select]

<

> set|#y|10

...the out parameter...

This program, EasyThumbs or ezthumbs.exe, does not appear to support any console output.  The only output I can get is to use the /M switch to display a dialog box.

When I tried the "out" parameter, I got a blank output, but the thumbnail was correctly created.

BUT, can I be assured that by using the "out" parameter that the process IS actually complete.  That would be enough.

I like the program because of the many option switches for the command line.

@mars:
I tried {.WHILE|true|{: {.exec|......} :}|timeout=5.} and the exec didn't get exec'd.
According to the Wiki:
Quote
The special macros with such behaviour are: if, set, for, switch and breadcrumbs.
Is this correct?
When I removed the quoting, {: :}, it worked but the timeout didn't delay the macro execution at all.
Just for fun, I also tried "false" and it had identical results.
What is surprising to me is that, when I watched "Task Manger", I only saw one "ezthumbs.exe" process.  I thought it may show many copies running.  Maybe it is set for "only one instance" by default.
I ran:
Code: [Select]
{.while|true|{.exec|ezthumbs.exe|{:"C:\Users\80063r\Pictures\Screen Shots\UltraEdit_Environment_2.jpg" /D="C:\Users\80063r\Pictures\Screen Shots\thumbs" /P=_tn /W=100 /H=100 /Z=ShrinkToFit /F=Nearest /Q=70 /B=0 /C=0 /S=0 /R=0 /Log=tnlog:}.}|timeout=20.}
{.set|#tn|1.}
{.call|#tn.}
{.focus.}
and the "Run Script" dialog focused immediately and showed the "1".

I can't seem to get any delay with "while".

Code: [Select]
> exec|ezthumbs.exe|{:"C:\Users\80063r\Pictures\Screen Shots\UltraEdit_Environment_2.jpg" /D="C:\Users\80063r\Pictures\Screen Shots\thumbs" /P=_tn /W=100 /H=100 /Z=ShrinkToFit /F=Nearest /Q=70 /B=0 /C=0 /S=0 /R=0 /Log=tnlog:}
<

> while|true| |timeout=20
<

> set|#tn|1
<

> call|#tn
< 1

> focus
<

Also, just to be crazy, I set a variable to the value of the thumbnail and tried to compare or "cut" that.  I can't get cut to work properly with any variable even with:
Code: [Select]
{.set|#tn|abcdefg}
{.cut|3|4|#tn.}
I get "n" as in the third character of "#tn".  I tried every combination of ! # ^ % {. .} I can think of.

Setting a variable to the value of the thumbnail just seemed to mess up macro execution.

Sorry, late post.  It took me a while to get the data.

* left clicking on the download tray icon will popup the menu, just as the right click used to do

Yes but it remains on top even if you decide to take no action (clicking in an empty area on desktop does no longer make it disappear)

Confirmed in Vista x64 (clicking desktop or another window).  But if the hfs window is open, clicking on the hfs window makes the popup disappear.

+ the TAR format is more standard compliant (is it?)

Also in Vista, WinRAR can't open a tar made by 7z if it contains only a folder in it's root.

There are major differences between a tar created by 7z and a tar created by both hfs241 and hfs240, although the main difference between 241 and 240 is that 241 uses a forward slash / for a folder delimiter and 240 uses a backslash \.

Here is a text file of a short summary of the binary comparison between the 3 applications.

What I really need to do is run a command-line exe and pause the template execution until the process is finished.  The process completes in less than half a second.  It is similar to RAWR-Designs thumbnail and preview generator.

There is no console output, but can I capture the exit code?  Something like >1 is failed and 0 means success.
Also, the command line can include /M to show a small dialog box upon completion.

Or, can HFS possibly be updated to include the output of the error code.  Like:

{.exec|filenameAndPath|commandLineParameters|out=#colsoleoutput|code=#errorcode.}

I'm not sure where to ask a question like this.  I searched for "pause execution" and found no results.

Also, if you can give advice on this, I only want the process run if the picturename_tn.jpg file does not exist in the /thumbs subfolder.  I've been working on this only for a few hours, so given time I may be able to figure it out myself.  I may have to make my own thumbnail generator which I could do.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks, that would be really cool.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: DESPERATE MAN HFS DRIVING ME INSANE!

Yes, it does in fact have the ability to exclude a specific file or folder from further protection.  Though I'm not sure that if you select only a file, that the exclusion would still be in effect on a file that changes.  I'll test that....

---------------------------
I tested it already.  Selecting to exclude a folder doesn't work.

 Keep in mind that there are several types of exclusions and trusted application types.  The "Trusted Zone Exclusion Masks" and "Trusted Zone Trusted Application" types don't work for allowing file modifications.  The type that works is the Firewall rules for filtering.  Once you have created your initial rule to allow TCP activity, you can look at the firewall trusted applications list and click "hfs.exe" then click "Edit" on the right.  At the bottom of "Rules for hfs.exe" window there is a "check box" for "Do not monitor for application files modification."

14
That was meant to be taken somewhat jokingly.  The fact that you already made a "run script" dialog is great already.  There's no need to be bogged-down by simple things like an extra "check box".

On the serious note, you already did the work of detecting that the file was changed, so focusing the window would be a simple thing to do.

your file has a bad name: not hsf.diff.tpl but hfs.diff.tpl

I new it had to be something stupid on my part.

Thanks :D

I'll be more careful in the future.
