Title: Playing videos directly as network stream

So some people on my site can stream videos from their media players directly but since it has limits for public anonymous accounts, id like to know how i can have my member accounts use their login firs then browse play media files as

Http://username:password@site.com/movie.mkv only works if that folder directly is protected so is there a url they can use such as the format above to login with to watch the videos via login without being hit by the limits due the public limits setup on no logins as member accounts bypass this.

perhaps by using

Properties of the item -> permissions -> access

in this order check:  any account , anonymous, anyone   

validate by clicking on ok

the url you said should work not only if the folder is directly protected, but also if it is one of the folders containing it

Did you manage to set the right permissions for your folder. So far the link doesn't offer you to login but returns the error: "The requested URL could not be retrieved"
