:) Well :) That's great :) A great understanding of how it works and what it is :)
So... &RQ uses Mirablis's (owner of ICQ) servers to connect (like any other ICQ client) , and after it connected, you can chat.
When you use "web interface" you don't need any external programms, exept your browser :) And the ICQ client loads directly from ICQ homepage. It's name as far as I remember is ICQ2Go!.

P.S. Anybody knows other web clients?

You can find some topics about this in forum.

No. It doesn't mean. You can just upload file contact.list.txt that is in your "&rq\yor_uin\" directory at home to any server, and then to download this file from any other place. Or you can use floppy in stead of uploading :)

i once heard about someone who made an &RQ plugin for sending messages through any "edit box", such as Word or notepad, so it could chat without getting slapped  :D

my message was not related to your "contact list" problem.
it was related to the "boss controlling you" problem.

you did not understand electron because it is possible to do it, but it is not that easy.

Ok. Here's what rejetto wrote about Server Contact List :
" ...my tip about the server-side contact list for &RQ (until it is supported) is: upload it somewhere and download it. the file is contact.list.txt."

You can read the whole topic here : http://www.rejetto.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=668

hmm.... i told a story about a hypothetical plugin i never saw. i see no step ;)

electron is reporting a post where i gave a (very stupid) tip on how to get the contact.list.txt everywhere with &RQ, but this is not related with ICQ, nor ICQ2GO.

If you want to upload your contact list on the ICQ server to get the list ready when you open ICQ2GO, my advice is
1) export your list in &RQ using the "export to .clb" in special menĂ¹
2) import it in ICQ 2002/3, i don't remember where the import function is
3) connect with ICQ, so it should upload the list to the server

it should be done.

to save the chat on file is an option, but enabled by default. you can disable it and you will get zero bytes occupied.

when it is enabled, every message takes about 37+N byte, where N is the number of characters in the message.
supposing 15 chars avarage length (i get a lots of 2-3 chars long messages), you can store about 20000 messages in 1 Mb.
