Hi,

I think it would be nice if you can mirror your files on the other sites? Dropbox, skydrive, drive, etc. just for temporary?

Thanks

Bug reports / Updating Problem (happens sometimes)
« on: March 07, 2008, 02:07:56 AM »
Hi,

Thank you Rejetto for sorting out everyone problems. You are the man.

Ok, this update issue is not serious. It happens to me sometimes but not all the time.
I've noticed that, if your server is under a heavy load (like mines) and when HFS is trying to update at the same time, the problem happens. Unfortunately, it is hard for me to capture the screen, because it happens so fast with all that DOS prompts and commands. But I will show you where the problem occurs.

Suppose the following command is the HFS updating command:
Quote
START "" /WAIT "D:\Servers\hfs.exe" -q
ping 127.0.0.1 -n 3 -w 1000> nul
REM MOVE "D:\Servers\hfs.exe" "D:\Servers\hfs.old.exe"
[PROBLEM: "ACCESS IS DENIED"] <<
MOVE /Y "D:\Servers\hfs.exe.new" "D:\Servers\hfs.exe"
[PROBLEM: "ACCESS IS DENIED"] <<
START "" "D:\Servers\hfs.exe"
DEL %0

So I think you need some method that can guarantee that the process will be shutdown completely, like (taskkill /F /IM hfs.exe).

Thanks Rejetto.

Ok, After I have tested the fixed hfs version (build 182).

Everything works perfectly, I don't need to come and reset those addresses anymore. (Now I got 7000+ addresses ever connected logged! WOW). No crashing no Lagging. Everything loads smoothly form the start till exiting of the program.

BTW: I have one more issue about updating HFS version (via auto update), Do I  need to post a new thread on this or not?
I've been having this flash DOS prompt error when updating.. where it wants to replace the old version with the new one it gives out "...hfs.exe, 'Access is denied'". I think you need to use some command like "taskkill /F /IM hfs.exe". So that it kills the porcess completely allowing the access to replace (delete) the old HFS version.

Thanks very much Rejetto, You rocks!

EVEN when people connect? :o

YES, that is right. I'm sure it's the problem with the junk of IP address in one big file.
It's not the way HFS writes to the file.

This will only happens when I have more than 1.5MB of my .ini file.

It works fine with the normal .ini file size (14k)

the problem is at start time, at quit time, or both?

Sorry, that I didnt make it clear in my first post.

This hapenns [@startup time] and when ppls are starting to connect to server [on run].

็Hi, Rejetto ^^

If you can give me the option to let me disable this function, this would be very helpful.
I've noticed that it uses Half of my CPU when it saves more IPs to the file. (50% @ 1.5MB of .ini file)

I'm using the latest beta version:
2.3 Build 180

Thank you very much Rejetto

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Disable Logging of "Address Ever Connected"??
« on: February 29, 2008, 03:57:49 PM »
Hi all,

I know this function is really useful. However, I need to disable this function.
I'm running my antivirus update server and there are so many peers connected to it everyday.

Eventually, my hfs.ini file grew to 2MB and it is very very slow when starting the program.
I need to manual edit the hfs.ini file and remove all the IPs, and after that everything is seems to be ok again?

Is there any other way to disable this option?

I've tried seaching and wiki page already.

Thanks

Come on be nice guys, Chrno has to sacrifice his valuable time to make a good theme for us all.
Can't you at least be patient and pay a little respect to him? ???

The newest version looks great, but how do I change to the Black Theme?
Even though I have this set already:
livestream_skin         = "black";
