Hello to U all !

From a recent article in french newpapers I found out about the latest release of the well known DivX 6.6. [dated may 31st]

So here it goes ...  and it’s full of goodies !

First of all in order to complete all the fun hereafter,  go to the officiel DivX site and download the following : DivX Player and DivX Doctor and check your codecs - there are freeware :

http://www.divx.com/

http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/codec/

http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/player/

http://labs.divx.com/DrDivX

Once installed you are ready to go ... what’s exciting is to connect at first to sites such as :

http://joox.net/

where u’ll enjoy full DivX video on demand experience for free... quite cool I must say !

And for other thrills, u’ll need  register to the recommanded community mentionned by DivX.com  http://www.divx.com/community/

mainly :

http://stage6.divx.com/

Woaouuuuu !

Note : with my Isp provider I found out it’s quicker to start viewing any DivX movie then stop viewing |pause] when the buffering is done and then copy/rename the file ans stop viewing

Suite ...

I did all things neccessary to register Stage6.com and got in return for posting a short movie

- one javascript (call my short movie)
- one command line for an embedded object" (DivX Viewer)

All in all,  these 2 last included in a diff. Html template on HFS ... works great I gathered  ;D

Edit many thanks to Fabnos for testing

Now  ... got around working this evening with DivXWebPlayer WebMaster SDK

- Files now working are both combinaison of *.avi and *.divx !
- All files of Hfs are now either hosted by Stage6 / my personnal web site or on my pc.
- View only or view/download is set independantly per video file (together with a couple of other options  windows view/full view/autostart/loop etc.)
- In case of use of my personnal server no Http blocked disable protection needed to view the video

I think the output quality is damn better compared to flash... pretty cool all this  ;)

It gave him a brain and a penis.
Unfortunately not enough blood to contemporarily bedew them

Now that you've done it all with DivX Web Player and checked for yourself the definition rendering : here is something you can get full screen from  Macromedia Falsh Player 8 (bottom right button to go full screen).

The best Flash player can do full screen

Beuurk !  :D

Hello

I need some help from Opera gurus.
In the dialog box underneath Opera highlight the choosen video but won't start running the video (left click)  ???

That's the only bug until now with Opera ... I 'm ready to go step by step with the js to solve it, but, with some help  ;)
Many thanks

I can't say i'm an Opera guru :P but i have noticed Opera handles javascript in a similar way to Internet Explorer. Does it have the same symptoms in IE?

I will have a play on your server and see what i can come up with, i am workin on a fullscreen button for the tog flv player atm :) resting from a day of university.

EDIT:

:o it works in Opera for me! or did you fix it already?

Hey guys thanks for the help. My player is working great. One question is there a way to have the player appear only on first page? Well I guess i have more than one question. Or can you make the player be like a link you click on it and open another page with the player. Last question how do you get the player have a drop down menu where you can chose different videos?

Thanks in advance.

'lut,

Well,  one way to do things first, as I said, is to "work around with the the Divx Webplayer Webmaster Sdk ' (Js samples).
Go to the bottom of page and U'll find the dl link (warning  : no maintenance/no updgrade and no reply from DivX support on the Sdk)

http://labs.divx.com/WebPlayerCodeGenerator

Sorry I forgot to post the link before as Ledufe also asked for it a while ago ;)

hello to all friend here...
i was helping some other hfs user(he is not registered at the forum yet), he is canadian, and he saw tcube hfs and its tests with divx, and asked about a way to make the divx web player be used, but instead a fixed movie player at the top of the window(the same with the file list), in a popup window,
so here it is...
let me explain, and some of you may use part of this idea, or it all in your template.....
it is a simple one....

i tested this and it works, but my guess is that this can be much more useful, clean, and easy...

the template is atached to this post

what must be improved

the detection of the movie resolution before open the popup window
the deletion of the cookie, or it expiration time and check routines
