This first VB app started out as a vbs script that needed a UI and was converted into a HTA project with alot of javascript and a crappy interface.  Its not slowly evolving into a solid app.  This probably won't be updated often but Rejetto wanted the screenshots archived so I figured why not get a log going.

Everything else / Need a site tested in firefox
« on: January 31, 2008, 08:39:57 AM »
Hey All, this has nothing to do with any rejetto product.

I just have a site and it looks amazing in IE6/7 and I knew there would be some cleanup to make it look good in firefox but its completely destroyed, it looks just horrible but in IE its perfect, nothing wrong with it...

TSG brought this to my attention and had me run it through the w3 validation script and it comes up with 5 errors now (had 83), regardless how does it look in firefox?

PLeaes include the version :)
-Kurt (PS, just the main page is using transitional xhtml, so go off that, please dont visit the other pages as they havent been attempted to be fixed yet)

Everything else / Buying a Zune, will arrive after Christmas
« on: November 25, 2007, 07:56:03 AM »
I bought a Zune online for 100.00 US (They normally go for 200 US or like 150 on ebay) and got a good deal.  But I have an ipod 2gb right now with about 180 songs and I'm too picky but I dont want to have a 30gb player with only 200 songs so I need some suggestions on good music.  I love rock, specifically progressive (bands like tool, a perfect circle, staind are a few).  You guys have some suggestions for me, i'm to picky so I'll listen to anything thats in english and give it a shot.

Instrumentals are fine.  What do you guys think?
I like stuff that doesnt talk about demons and darkness by the way :|

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Unfamiliar line in the logs
« on: November 21, 2007, 02:31:28 AM »
If this looks like its from my other post about the invisible idle connections, its because it is. Can anyone clarify what this means?

Actually come to think of it, it looks like a bearshare client is trying to access my fileserver via HTTP but I don't think this is possible.  I have sharing disabled in bearshare.  Also there is no indication that Bearshare or any parent folder was accessed for a long long time. (besides my loopback address) Ideas?

I can see them both sharing 127.001 for various internal reasons but I dont see why this would show up on the logs.
It's attached.

Bug reports / Small Bug, Idle (invisible) connections
« on: November 20, 2007, 03:32:42 AM »
Hey.  I attached a picture, it pretty much explains itself.  Basically at some point I had some idle connections that just disappeared with info but stay in my current connected IP's field at the bottom, as well as the transfer percentage in the taskbar.  There are about 15 or so, they arent hurting anything, just curious.  I know restarting HFS will fix it, but I'm going for high uptime :)  I can't kick the idle, or kick all..

Like I said its no big deal, Rejetto won't be back for awhile anyway so it dosent matter.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Request: Make 'Bind to real folder' options
« on: November 11, 2007, 08:43:46 AM »
Hey Rejetto..

For my own reasons, mainly organization of my vfs, I'd like to be able to bind a real folder to my root which I can already do however I want these files (that are in the folder that is bound to root) to be used as dummy files until login, however with binding of the root they are seen both by anonymous users and logged in users. Can you make an option for bind to real folder that is along the lines of: 'Don't show folder bound to root for registered users'

I'm sure other people have use for this for other reasons but for me its mainly just organization so I can just have my logged in "real" resources shown in my VFS because they are primarily what my server is for.

Send me an IM if this doesnt make complete sence.

Everything else / Login time on the forum, explanation please?
« on: November 09, 2007, 03:24:20 AM »
Hey, I was curious about this when I open up the rejetto forums:

"Total time logged in: 1 days, 5 hours and 16 minutes."

I was wondering if it says that I have been online (ELEVENNNN is viewing this board, etc) the entire time my account has not been logged out, because I can go to other parts of my city and come on the forums and it still says 1 day or 5 days or whatever.  I did tell it to stay logged in forever.  I guess what im trying to say is you guys probably get the idea that I have absolute no life (if the behavior above is happening) WHEN in actuality.. i have very little of a life. theres a difference.

does anyone know if it just goes by you checking "always stay logged in" and if so why does it say only 1 day. (I havent cleared my history or cookies or temp files, and im always logged in, shouldnt it say 2 weeks bleh bleh)

I thought you might get a good laugh out of this... the poem below is taken from things George Bush has said while doing a little public speaking:

Quote
MAKE THE PIE HIGHER
by George W. Bush

I think we all agree, the past is over.
This is still a dangerous world.
It's a world of madmen and uncertainty
and potential mental losses.

Rarely is the question asked
Is our children learning?
Will the highways of the Internet become more few?
How many hands have I shaked?

They misunderestimate me.
I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
I know that the human being and the fish can coexist.
Families is where our nation finds hope, where our wings take dream.

Put food on your family!
Knock down the tollbooth!
Vulcanize society!
Make the pie higher! Make the pie higher!

I got this from snopes: http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/piehigher.asp

I think hes an okay guy but no one can deny he has  aproblem speaking. Most of you arent american so your allowed to call him a big gay if you wish :P (although you could/can even if you were american)

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Can't access folder, never resolves
« on: November 07, 2007, 02:25:09 AM »
Hey.

I know some people are having this problem, I love HFS so I almost ignore it but my music folder is all but inaccessible.  How many people have the problem where they click a folder and it just sits at replying and never resolves, then it just stops like nothing happened and they can go to another folder just fine.  I know there are some others besides me, would the people who have had this happen please post so this can hopefully get resolved.  Please confirm this is a bug in HFS and not how xbrowser handles traffic with xfunction, etc..

@ Mr. Me, please tell anything that happens during the attempt
@ Rejetto, do you know why this is occuring?

Not to be a bother, I love HFS like I said I just ignore it, but me wants some remote muz3x

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Question, Upgrading HFS to new build
« on: October 30, 2007, 01:16:09 AM »
Hey,

Ever since the find about hibernation/standby i'm shooting for 99.9% uptime. (for no specific reason, just because I can) That being said, when you upgrade hfs to the new build via the popup saying there is a newer version avaliable, does the server uptime counter get reset?  It goes slightly too fast to tell if the UI is just updated or if it closes and restarts, although a hfs.old is parsed, but i'm still unclear.

Can someone clarify if they know. Also, this is post #100 :)

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Comment in Easy mode
« on: October 29, 2007, 05:02:21 AM »
Hey Rejetto, this was such a small thing that I barely wanted to start a post for it but I think even the baseline users that love Easy mode as apposed to export will use the Comment feature.  Who agrees that comment should show up in Easy mode as well?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / HFS and Standby
« on: October 26, 2007, 11:21:43 PM »
Hey

My machine shut off randomly (or went into standby rather) but when I started it back up HFS still said it had been running for 1 day and 3 hours.  This is a nice thing to know since some people shoot for 99.9% uptime and even though the server is unaccessible because the ability to route is shut down it still keeps the server online time valid.  So you can go into standby and come back and itll still say its been online all that time.. I tested this on GiantEagles end as well after clearing cache etc. (Both firefox and IE).

Have not tested with Hibernate because my graphics card doesnt support it, I would image with hibernate it resets it, but maybe that value only sees how long HFS has been running, and not how long HFS has been running with the interwebs enabled, Rejetto, care to shed some light on this/

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Logical grouping of files in root
« on: October 26, 2007, 02:18:48 AM »
Hey, I did more research on this one before posting and I can't find an answer.

I have some dummy files in my root until you login, well they arent dummy files but they are for non logged-in users. I have 6 primary folders in the root that users see when they are logged in, there are about 10 files that are for non logged in users.. is there a way to logically group the 10 files so they are in a folder in my VFS called 'Annonymous' or something so my VFS isnt like 20+ folders and files long (when they arent expanded).

I guess my goal would be this:

Instead of: (in my vfs)

folder 1, folder 2, folder 3, folder 4, folder 5, folder 6 + dummy file 1 through 10

I'd like to see

folder 1, folder 2, folder 3, folder 4, folder 5, folder 6 + FOLDER 7 (with the 10 dummy files in them)

the catch is, I still want the files in folder 7 to show up in the root when a user hasnt logged in. (and for folder 7 to not be visible to anyone)

This might be a hard explanation, ask if you need verification.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Placeholder files until logging in
« on: October 25, 2007, 01:55:27 AM »
Hey There, I decided to have some files in the root when you access my file server however, when you login I want them to disappear and show the main folders the user has permissions to.  So these will be placeholder files if you could call it that. don't ask why im choosing to do this, it will become clear soon enough, does anyone know how to do this?

Everything else / New theme for forums
« on: October 24, 2007, 09:55:13 PM »
Hey, I was wondering if there are ways to customized the forums to your own liking, sometimes there are several default themes, and since I'm spending a good deal of time on here now, I was hoping to personalise it a bit.

Or maybe, if the community wants, the forums could change themes completely, I was looking at a few of them and they are "pretty snazzy" :D

I know I know, I just talked about not wanting to change everything but this isnt HFS :|  What do others think, there are quite a few here: http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php
