Title: Problem?

When i enter my file servers ip address in firefox twice like this: http://76.26.X.XX:5019/http://76.26.X.XX:5019/
it bypasses the user name and password protection and it goes straight through without having to login. Is this a problem
with me or hfs?  ???

I cannot reproduce your symptoms.... even externally, internally and over the network... i receive 'HTTP 404 not found' error.

i also tried to reproduce the problem but no luck... and i am trying from outside the lan.

straight.... where?
do you access any protected file?
