What would U think about setting up different section/child boards in '"English only" that would assemble "main concerns of the use of HFS" and solutions when members want to share their scripts such as in :

- Video Streaming
- Audio Streaming
- Photo Galleries

Please take time to think it over if is it useful or not, feasible or not, etc.

I think instead of opening more child boards, it would be better to do some effort in documentation/manual/wiki and anounce the wiki on top of the forum page with BIG letters!

This would probably solve some (most!) of the HFS install and self-test problems. Thwe would be no need to explain 54 times the difference between lan and wan ip etc. Links to the wiki would be enough.

Also there would remain some number of forum posters, who prefer to ask the same question that was previously answerd in 33 threads. But as the answers, hints and solutions were given to the question of another person, they prefer to ask the same thing to get more personal answer

I understand perfectly what you mean. Most people don't like to read detailed manuals when they have some trouble with a program. And I know also that a lot of documentation is badly written and organized.
Writing good and useful/usable documentation/manuals can be as difficult (sometimes even more) than coding.

Good structured documentation is NOT a substitute for a forum - but can be it respect to faqs (where you usually don't find what you look for). But it helps a lot to a forum, as with one or two links you answer a lot of questions that in the forum normaly are nearly repeated sequences of 5 to 8 posts.

Yes, I think some HFS users are really involved in testing/sharing their latest dev. they foresee about new technology (for instance for video streaming, we shall speak about  VLC , Flash, Avi, DivX , H.264 ect. ... same for Audio Streaming)
 
I bit feel sorry all these new possibilities are going into the oubliettes in the main section.

One possible interesting consequence (same as with other matters such as "HFS install and Self-Test" as mentioned or "Linux" may be another one ) HFS users main find it easier to use the "Search" function once they have spotted the child board most likely to fit their concern.

Call me old school, even new school, but i agree with batcher. I totally agree.
TCube video formats alone aint enough to qualify for a child board, and i share your concern..

There was never any praying, we just had threads that were going on for miles and taking over the html board, so now we have our own child board that is 14 pages long, The html board is only 20 pages long hehe

I don't like the idea of a gazillion child boards, there is some very confusing forums out there, this one still has a sense of sanity about it. Until Fysack found it anyway

I was not thinking about installable scripts that may be added or imply modifying/improving existing templates such as RAWR or ToG : thus these scripts do directly into the right child-board.

Just thinking about any scripts (mainly Videos/Pictures/Sound that is what people most share within their HFS I guess ?) that could be useful or great ideas to be included into any templates ... yes some people do make their own or use the "basic" one

"Shareable Scripts" ? Y/N/maybe ? let's wait ans see then.
