HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Register
« on: October 24, 2004, 08:33:42 PM »
User/User-groups/Register won't be much helpful to HFS since the user who is registering will not be able to select which user-group / permissions he/she will have.

As well, adding a feature for HFS to mail passwords is a dangerous idea. It could be exploited or the HFS server could be DDoSed.

DO NOT CLICK ON DWARREL's URL!!!!
It takes you to a website that installs a ADDWARE Trojan to your
system dirrectory called (mjaxczh.exe)

To get it off your system just hit control alt and delete and disable
the running file so windows will let you delete it from your system
dirrectory...

Dwarrel your a real JACKASS!!

I see that there are a lot of ad scripts in the page... Maybe the malware is hidden in the script?

If HFS is launched before ZoneAlarm is started properly, it will automatically deny access unless HFS is restarted. To resolve this problem, all HFS access to act as a server and access to the Internet in ZoneAlarm's application control panel.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Its possible to....

Accounts in HFS are meant to secure content.
Creating an account on HFS's page would not do anything since these accounts would have to be configured before a user could do anything with it.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Adding messiging support......just read it

Because HTTP protocol does not have a control connection, it is not possible to send a realtime message to a specific user. But as rejetto said, you could modify the template.
Maybe rejetto could add a "leave-a-message" page. :)

You might have some kind of caching software so you are loading the file much faster.

That only applies to pages served by HFS.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Was someone trying to attack me?
« on: September 28, 2004, 10:55:04 PM »
A firewall would not help if you decide to open a port to the Internet.
That means either you close access to the external Internet or allow access and risk being attacked. For now, HFS is not suspectable to known attacks.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / someone tried to hack me

A firewall won't help if you are opening a server to a port that is venerable for attacks. But in this case, HFS is not affected by CodeRed attacks.
