Hello people, may I know why you deleted my post (http://rejetto.com/forum/index.php?topic=13346.0)?... (sorry if I published it in the wrong place). My name is Francisco, I am from Argentina, and a while ago I discovered HFS and I would like to know which "Dynamic DNS" providers work best with HFS. I don't want to use no-ip.com (because it requires checking my account every 30 days) or dyndns.com (because it is not free) so I am looking for an alternative that is easy to configure. Please don't delete my message. I really need to know which 'dynamic DNS' works best with HFS. (I don't speak English, this text was translated by Google).
Thank you!!! :D

Hi, and welcome to the forum! :) I've answered you in the other post HERE (https://rejetto.com/forum/index.php?topic=13346.msg1066294#msg1066294) (in spanish). You can try DuckDNS (https://www.duckdns.org/) (but it's untested by me, but as far I know (https://old.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/56j6pn/duckdns_forever_free_ddns/), it doesn't expire and works well with HFS). Other users can give you a better answer (I usually use HFS on my LAN (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_area_network) only).
Cheers,
Leo.-

I like dnsexit.com
They have published a wget command line to do the update. This works will the many little linux routers. And, it works with the watchcat script (that zip file also contains wget-for-windows).
I don't use hfs built in ddns update because it could redirect hfs to itself, which makes router port forwarding fail. It is quite a bit more useful to make the router do the ddns updates. OpenWRT, Gargoyle, DD-WRT and Tomato can all do ddns update. . . even if your server isn't powered on.

I am using it for some months, works like charm. My ip is dedicated though.
