Hello, i think you either have some form of network layer that is "scanning" before it talks to the hfs server.

As such I would ask you on the windows server to "clean up" via command:
ipconfig /flushdns

Then have your clients either try connecting via (ip adress / server FQDN (computer name)...)

it sounds like a cashing issue on the clients

( ??? ) is there a template change or are you on HFS Default template.
Are you going through routers for your clients to access hfs? - (which can lead to{your issues you are experiencing} slow connection to connect to http side server, and once connection is established, regulate network speed)

are you subsiding your network? ie a 100 network switch connecting to a gigabit connection?...

You might need to adjust your setting in your limits in the hfs program, see picture
(Picture has it defaults!)

thank you for your time and patience,

Possibly Need A Better Explanation...:(your post seems like it is counteracting itself...)

Breaks down as i read it:
Clients (when all other guys)

go to the hfs address (open it with address http://192.168.1.23:8080)

it is loading the webpage slowly and other web links on hfs load slowly??? (it is very slowly. and same for every lower level folder)

if a client clicks a link to download/upload it seems faster??? (but the upload and download is very fast)

---

Is your hfs "severing" real folders and is so how many files are in that folder, as it might be the clients need time to "cache/load" the hfs folder webpage....

thank you for your time and patience,

what browser are you using?
what if you open your website locally, is it slow?

Thanks for the reply.

To bmartino1,
I run command "ipconfig /flushdns", it does not work., and i change the template with with UTF-8 to gb2312, all otheres are default. and There is a route for the client.
I mean it is loading the webpage slowly, same issue with opening lower level folders, and when it finished loading, when i click the link for upload and download the file, it is normal. and there is only 8 files under the two folders. I also think it is "cache/load" problem, Thanks.

 To rejetto,
IE & Firefox on different computer, same problem
when i open the link on local computer, it is normal. no this issue, Thanks.

I recall having a similar issues when i first stumbled into HFS...

I was experimenting with multiple large file sizes in a real folder over a ISP minimum 5MB upload.
I found that when i open the folder to view the page it took forever to load (as the client was trying to "cache" data...
but if i click the link on one of the files/or upload it was much faster...

If you don't mind me asking how big in siz is the folder that has the "8 files" as i might conclude it to be a client cache issue..

----
also, since the command didn't work (which may or may not help)
CMD must be run as administrator:
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation.  All rights reserved.

C:\Windows\system32>ipconfig /flushdns

Windows IP Configuration

Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

monitor CPU usage on the server machine.
the slowing is apparently on the networking, since you don't have the problem locally.
I'm not talking about the wires or the card, but other softwares involved, like firewalls.
