Cannot import ICQLite-DB // DualWindow-Support?
« on: September 03, 2003, 09:39:37 AM »
Hi!

Is it possible to import ICQLite-DB?
I read so on the Homepage "0.9.4.13 (...) MINOR: improved client recognition (trillian, icq2002, icq2003, icqlite) " but how does it work?

One Feature I *really* miss in all versions of ICQ/... and sadly also in &RQ: Multi-Monitor-Support / Dual-Monitor-Support.
I never can drag the contactlist to on my second monitor since this damn snap-funktion grapps the window at the corner =((
Mayble something for your (probably long) programming-queue!? ;)

This has nothing to do with importing, it simply says what clients your contacts are using.

You could disable docking in preferences. Atm there is no support for docking on secondary monitor.

thx for help

I already found out:

a) ICQLite DB can be used if ICQ2002a (e.g.) is installed and used vor importing DB

b) Dualmonitor can be used if some options are changed: 1. docking: none, 2. adjust windows: no

very cool!!!

sadly I alredy got some runtime error... but I hope they will disappear :)

yes, I've had the same problem.. sometimes history files can be corrupt.. you can usually see what event the error is next to since the history usually shows all entries up until the corrupt one.. then hack the file manually.. which is a little tricky.. make backups först

does the error come up everytime or just sometime?
everytime with just 1 contact, or with all contacts?

For me it has happened a few times only after hd krasches and the like.. never with importing (although I haven't imported anything since icq2001 when I began using &rq).

I think that the history parsing could be more lenient. If something isn't correct, display an error message only if specified in preferences and continue parsing.

Try add some garbage inbetween posts in a history file and you could reproduce the AV.

Yes, I always had same error in Windows9x (98SE,ME), because i am often did copy/paste of history, and this error appears if you selecting (highlighting) several strings of text in history window.

But now in WindowsXP i don't see this error. I think it is the bug only for Windows9x.

This is what happend:
- imported files
- opend contacts
- wrote
- clicked on the history-show-button
--> error
- click ok - nothing in history-window
- click/scroll in history-win
--> error again
... and so on

same with all contacts i tested

i could send my history to you...

btw: problem solved by renaming history-folder ;)
