Logon fail from intranet when using the PC name

Thats happening here I enter with something like:
http://server
I see the index, but when I try to log in it shows me
http://backup/~login and error that the page cant be found.
If I hit refresh I enter with that user and all works OK.
I have no problems when I use the IP or the domain.

what version?
what if you click on a protected resource, instead of the "login" link?

Version 2.1d (088).
tomorrow I set a protected folder and try from there (i dont have hfs local).
