Hello nopen,

it  is not a easy point, cause i don't use win9x and i cannot know how
manyresources  it  is  using. nt/2000/xp don't have limited resources.
last  july  i  worked  hard  to lower the need of resources when i was
working  with another pc with win95. i got an interesting improvement,
but  many  changes  have  been  made  till  now, and i understand that
resources requirement increased while i was not able to monitor it.

i  have  to  install a win98 in another partition and try to work with
it,  but i can't do it now cause it would take a lot of time. surely i
will, but maybe in 7 months, when my temporary job will end.

i accept any advice about lowering resource needs in Delphi

p.s. i forward this message to the forum

well, searching and searching i found a winapi GetGuiResources that's able to retrieve number of those gdi and user resources.

now i need a tool to let me monitor easily these values, and to know how many resources are available under win98, cause this function does not return % values (of course)

puff, pant
i got to decrease resources usage from 35% to 24%
we are talking about gdi resources, cause the other value is only 5-6%

i had to change several things internally
this means that bugs could have been introduced, but it is nothing new, this law is in force in every modification.
