Serious problem...
« on: July 25, 2004, 06:33:14 PM »
Hi folks! ;)

Have you ever wondered, what's gonna happend, when you switch off your webaware indicator, and then switch it back on??? Well, I'll tell ya... YOU WILL LOOSE FOREVER PROPER STATUS RECOGNITION OF YOUR UIN...
Why? Don't know, that's why I am asking Rejetto, he will know better...
Even better will be, if he succeed AT LAST to finish completelly just ONE of his projects.. Sorry for writing that Massimo, we are friends, but this is not serious...;(

So - do not try to mess with WebAware function... Damages are irrevitable... I have already lost correct status of one of my 5 digits...
And - do not blame Rejetto - this is protocol change, from few months ago....
have a nice chat, folks, take care...

Another one bug revealed:

a lot of my friends who are using common icq client complain me, that they cannot send messages to me when my &rq status is "away".

p.s. and that bloody bug "user is online, but invisible to you' is annoying.

Could anyone do something with it with in a year time at least? :)
(half a year already passed)

tnx

The away progblem is highly annoying...
*Many users on my list can't send me msg while im in away...
*Sometimes when I read others auto-msgs it shows me that he read mines...
*Can you make a hotkey for moving to the next user tab in the chat window? (and prev...)
*History is curropt is quite annoying too...im trying to watch some1's history with me and it erases my last history with him and telling me that the history is coorupt (fixed after deleting the history file or moving it)

Rejetto said

IMPORTANT: this project is actually not developed anymore. A new project is about to replace it: &RQ.NET.
Check the forum if you want to know more. And stay tuned.

since then no info from him. he doesn't tell us about his progress, do you, Rejetto? ;)

&RQ.NET is in planning stages, very little code (if any) has been written (I'm currently implementing the ICQ protocol from scratch for another project, which may or may not be part of &RQ.NET later in some form)

So, it seems like we`ll better try to find another good icq client like &rq which has fewer bugs.

Maybe anyone wanna recommend something?

i just posted my opinion on another thread.
i will copy it here.
Quote
&RQ.NET is not so near: i've been programming a mail server in C++ for the last month, for a university exam.
in the last 2 months i was not able to spend any time on my personal projects.
it IS a good idea for those who don't want to wait, to use another software.
and time will tell if &RQ.NET will be worth.

if &RQ sources were well-written, someone else would have been working on them while i was unavailable.
this is another point for a full rewriting, with open-source in mind.
