...Speed Limit...crashes...
Options:
Remove the speed limit.
and
There's a different option (tested only slightly):
in hfs.events file
[+download]
{.set speed limit for connection | 625.}

That should, probably, prevent one thing from getting stuck behind another; and, 4 downloads * 625 is perhaps your 2500.

Alternatively, put speed limit in a different box: https://www.linksysinfo.org/index.php?forums/tomato-firmware.33/  You can add the five rule auto qos, and then speed is adaptive.
...Is it possible to restart the program remotely?...
Options:
hfs.events file
[at 4:00]
{.stop server.}
[at 4:01]
{.start server.}

Alternatively, https://www.tightvnc.com/ although, long un~spel1abla password, and do change the default VNC port number, to something less inviting, such as, an  Unassigned  port from this list: https://www.iana.org/assignments/service-names-port-numbers/service-names-port-numbers.txt

I can not remove the speed limit because attacks were sometimes with ip, which download with high speed. I created the file and pasted it  [+download]
{.set speed limit for connection | 625.}.
But it does not work for me.

hfs.events file

[at 4:01]
{.start server.}

I meant to close the program completely and re-open it .. Remotely. This is the only way to get rid of the freeze program.
Probably to use the timeviewer sometimes !?  :o

Or put the second RAM 4 GB increasing to 8 GB and in two threads. Will this help?
Or does it not depend on memory?  Freezing of the program occurs arbitrarily when I do not use the PC!!!

The  hfs.events  file goes in the same folder as hfs.exe--from the keyboard, you can do Alt+F6

Also set downloads per ip to 3
Also set connections per ip to 4
And, turn off speed limit; turn off speed limit per ip, because speed limit is vulnerable to download manager attack.

Other things to try.
HFS 2.3k https://drive.google.com/open?id=1TVfCfxygKXShEIZT9cnumO_jX_9Ssefy
And you can try the basic or mp versions of the throwback template.

If none of this suits, you can use TightVNC or other popular remote control software.

you have to setup a Windows schedule taks that would run dailu at etc time

taskkill hfs.exe

a batch file to close then open it

Why do you insist on turning off the speed limits? The speed limit can lead to such errors? And what is the difference between downloads per ip and connections per ip?

because speed limit is vulnerable to download manager attack
The attack was carried out using browsers, not the download manager.. In my case...

Thanks advance and Best regards!

Sometimes the program is buggy. I can't even open the program from a minimized ! ...
In my build I'm getting error in tfile.getParent
Because (node.data.node <> node) - and looks like getparent going in loop.

Except for gigabit connections, No hung requests with:
HFS 2.4rc2:  http://www.rejetto.com/hfsfiles/hfs24rc2.exe
HFS 2.3K:  https://drive.google.com/open?id=1TVfCfxygKXShEIZT9cnumO_jX_9Ssefy

However, HFS 2.3M gets absolutely knackered during concurrency testing.  Just choose a different version.

A Plug-in, Hardware fix
« Reply #22 on: September 08, 2019, 04:48:55 PM »
If you have a gigabit connection to the server or some way to do more speed than HFS was built for... and get stuck

Here's a funny way to patch:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/273793001390?
Get this 150m + 5dbi usb antenna.  It can be set to either 72 or 150
You may need to adjust usb port power management and/or wifi power management (to off)
Give it a fixed ip address, make HFS use that, and adjust your router forwarding likewise.

Using a not-so-fast adapter seems like a really transparent way to patch the problem.
Alternative is a "NetLimiter" type of windows bandwidth management software.

*The item pictured should do it.  Alternatives include:
USB to Ethernet adapter properties set to 10/half (used just for HFS)
ALFA RT3070L based 150M adapters are maximum range but not excessively fast.
A very Smart-Switch with qos % and/or more speed settings
Tomato Router (hfs rule and class, adjust max% for hfs class)

HFS 2.4rc2

   Is this a beta testing version?
What does it mean, with the exception of gigabit connections, there are no hanging requests? I have a gigabit connection, and this can cause hfs to freeze? Cable connection, without a router.

HFS2.4 is currently in beta.  It has had much testing.

Yes, gigabit connection makes HFS freeze--More requests/traffic than HFS can handle, queue up like inflating a balloon, until Pop!

Fix:  Either adding a slower secondary interface to the server (just for HFS), Or you can use Netlimiter software

Netlimiter:  https://www.netlimiter.com/ can set speed for hfs
Cable connection, without a router.
If connecting more than one computer works; then, you have a router, and the location of your router is inside of the cable modem (a modem-router combo).

I don’t quite understand how to create this?

Do not want to use another netlimiter program as a crutch! :o

Why does this freeze occur once a day or once every two days? It is very strange? Can increase RAM from 4 gigabytes to 8 GB? Two slats RAM in two threads. Maybe this will help? It is strange that with version K I did not notice this.
If reboot PC more often, it freezes more often. Now using version 2.4 rc2
