Thanks.  But, there's no sound.  What form of clickable link allows the end user to achieve playback?

It immediately caused 5 Gigabytes of traffic, but it didn't play any of them.

Need to avoid downloads unless the play button is clicked.
After the play button is clicked then it would be nice to download/play one at a time (not all at once).

that sounds like a mime type issue
is the mime type defined and is it set to open directly in browser?

P.S. Throwback-X is working for me, if you remove location.search=shuffle,

...You can add id='menu-bar' to the element the play button should appear...Set var dur=0 to avoid preload...
That made the play button work.  Probably need to Re-shuffle when pause is clicked.

It does still download 1 mp3 file every time a page is loaded, even if the play button wasn't clicked.
So, var dur=0 removed most of the preload bandwidth problem, but not all of it.

just reload page

fixed (only metadata of first file downloaded)

P.S. you can style the play button  .play {color:green}
next week I'm on holidays

Throwback11! The really fast Throwback (retro) template. Updated.
« Reply #125 on: July 18, 2019, 03:56:37 PM »
Throwback11Photo:
It has slideshow, photo thumbnails via load-on-scroll bandwidth saver, mp3 folder player, etc... and, for speed, the features are provisioned After the file listing completes. It is nice on fast cable internet.  Thanks to DJ for the delete, slideshow and music player scripts

Throwback11mp:
It has slideshow, mp3 folder player.  With no thumbnails, it uses less bandwidth and is easier for the server.

Throwback11basic:
It supports Dish, Dial-Up, Mobile G, Rural DSL, Mesh, Metered and other bandwidth conservation needs.
The streaming markup is able to display file lists to numerous users, regardless of internet speed.

Edit:  Second version has archive feature

@ bmartino1,
Thanks.  Yes: first post, this same thread.  My signature line has the link.

I put the finished works at post#1 to keep them separate from developmental efforts.

Throwback12! Updated. Has folder create/delete and archive too.
« Reply #128 on: September 12, 2019, 06:38:36 PM »
Available at post#1  Throwback12 has dynamic archive and upload, low ram consumption and high reliability. The streaming markup is tested to succeed at 500,000 files on a single page (however, smaller folders would list faster).  New Folder is on the upload page.  The dynamic module auto adapts to actively reduce server load. For additional security, delete icon of folders is shown if the user has both delete and upload permissions.

Photo version:  Full featured and load adaptive
MP version:  No thumbnails, so less mobile data involved
Basic version:  Business oriented--No multimedia features

I'd like to hear how you use it, and what you'd like to see.  Do say! I am looking for ideas...

Example Photos:  PC screen size & Phone screen size, shows the automatic sizing.

Currently working on this:

All 3 versions in one file, load adaptive feature set, mobile data saver, all automated.

You can change the basic/photo feature switching threshold:
Search/find/look for  %connections% > 18  and set it to a multiple of 3.
Examples:  0 for dish/dialup, 6 for gigabit*, 12 for dsl, 18 for basic cable, 24 for fast cable.
*If gigabit, use Netlimiter to prevent flooding and then you can set 48
Bearing in mind that connections are divisions of internet speed rate, then relevant settings are from 0 to 48.
