Beta / Re: version 2.4 - several bugs
« on: March 25, 2019, 08:38:23 AM »
"Switch On" and "Switch Off" button is reversed
I can confirm this bug! It was introduced on hfs24b6.exe (hfs24b5.exe had this function working correctly). If you look carefully, the icon shows the correct function, meanwhile the text is wrong. I guess this happened to Rejetto when doing some automatic 'search and replace' on the source code, without looking if every replaced instance was the correct (it's something common, that it could happen to anyone).

could not reproduce the bug with Anonymous,
This is VERY weird! I'm pulling my hairs trying to reproduce the error, but now the bug is not coming back, neither using {.!Anonymous.} or {.!anonymous.}. There must be something with some specific configuration I had, but now I can't reproduce this error anymore (is crazy!). :o

I've saved a screenshot yesterday (just in case), but anyway the bug was not important, since it only was on the template (on client side), not on the HFS program (not on the server side, because the file gets renamed successfully anyway).

This was the error shown (see screenshot):
Code: [Select]
Error: {.break|result=bad session}

But on the logs everything was normal:
Code: [Select]
19:42:22 Requested GET /
19:42:25 Requested GET /?mode=jquery
19:42:34 anonymous renamed "/folder/SomeFile1.gif" to "SomeFile2.gif"

This error happened with some folder having the 'Hidden' flag, and the 'Upload' setting to 'Anyone'. Anyway, this error can't be reproduced anymore (but yesterday was solved only if {.!anonymous.} in lower case was used).

But I've found another interesting things (two possible small bugs):

CASE 1) If you have an empty 'hfs.ini', that file is IGNORED and the settings are saved directly on the registry (the file 'hfs.ini' is deleted on exit, and the account 'can change password' is created normally). Expected behavior: save all the settings on that empty 'hfs.ini'.

CASE 2) If you have a 'hfs.ini' file with a minimal content (like a simple 'space' character, or containing a word like 'HFS' at start), the file is recognized and used to save the settings there (the registry is not used), and if you already have a 'hfs.tpl' along with the 'hfs.exe' file, HFS is NOT creating the default account 'can change password' (if there is no 'hfs.tpl' file, the account 'can change password' is created normally. Expected behavior: the account 'can change password' should be created and saved on the 'hfs.ini' file on this specific scenario (also the settings should be saved in a file, if an empty 'hfs.ini' file is found).

I hope this could be easily fixed... :-\

Keep in touch if you need more details.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Donate your Time for translate
« on: March 25, 2019, 08:22:23 AM »
No worries for the time you spend translating HFS ... No one is in a hurry here. :)
You can also change your mind, and decide not to do it ... no one will blame you.

You may be able to help you with the English default.po file contained in the zip sources.
Yes, I'm using the English default.po (from the zip sources) as my MAIN source of reference, because sadly I don't understand French language (your original French text will be still used as a secondary reference, but with the help of online translators). This is what slows down the entirely process of translation (because I need to double-check every entry is correct in both languages: English and French).

Especially since I do not facilitate the task of translators with my sources strings in "French de-accented" and very little commented.  :-[
I guess other users will have the same problem, since they may think they have to translate directly from French, but they don't have in mind that they could use the English default.po as reference. If someone else reading this wants to translate to Italian, could take note of this tip... ;)

PS: Has the executable I posted run in Spanish on your system by default
(at first run if your Windows OS is setled on Spanish locale) ?
Yes! :) As soon as I start your executable, it runs in Spanish by default (and my Windows OS is configured in Spanish locale).

And about my Spanish translation, don't worry about local idiomatic, since my translation will be as neutral as possible, so it could be used by any Spanish-speaking country. And when I finish my translation to Spanish, I will post a message in the Spanish forum to have feedback from other users. Anyway, I've already done another translation to Spanish (here), and I didn't received any complains about local Spanish idiomatics (so, to keep things simple, I don't think is necessary to add es_ES, es_PY, es_AR, es_MX, es_UY, etc, the same as currently there is no en_US or en_CA). ;)

HTML & templates / Re: Simple contact template
« on: March 25, 2019, 07:58:56 AM »
What is the final file?
Hi Sergio!. You can choose any file posted on my first post (since those are 'final' stable versions). I didn't have the time to release a quality tested version 2.0, but it will come on the future for sure (yet, I don't have plans to work on this on the near future).

Currently, I recommend you to use this ''. Usage is very simple: you simply create a 'real folder' named "contact", and then copy there the file 'hfs.diff.tpl' (from the .zip file), and it's all ready to use. It has been tested to be working fine, without bugs. If you have any other doubts, feel free to open a question in the Spanish section of the forum (and I will help you there). :)

Beta / Re: version 2.4
« on: March 24, 2019, 04:28:16 AM »
@Mars: You are right! :) I agree on both, but mostly on the first (because that introduced a bug!). I've didn't realize that 'Anonymous' (on line 560) is case sensitive, so {.!Anonymous.} needs to be replaced with {.!anonymous.} (thanks to SilentPliz for point me out that 'Anonymous' was case sensitive). ;)

This line needs to be replaced:
{.add to log|{.if|%user%|{.!User.} %user%|{.!Anonymous.}.} {.!renamed.} "{.^x.}" {.!to.} "{.^yn.}".}

With this correct line (it's only one letter change):
{.add to log|{.if|%user%|{.!User.} %user%|{.!anonymous.}.} {.!renamed.} "{.^x.}" {.!to.} "{.^yn.}".}

And I've added {.!HFS.} on line 452, because that already was on another place, in line 31, and that could be useful if someone wants to hide or change the name of the server (for security purposes), but since anyone could edit the template, it's not needed after all. But no harm is done if that is left (you can see {.!HFS.} was also included on the default template of v2.3m and even on v2.3k).

@Rejetto: boss, did you had time to review this?...
Are my changes approved for v2.4 RC3?... :)

« on: March 23, 2019, 10:14:55 PM »
Cool!! :) that's exactly was I was looking for! (but I was afraid to ask). This release is great because loads translated files on the fly, without having to recompile (it saves a lot of time, thank you). I can't promise an exact date, but expect my contribution on this (translating the Spanish language) on the following days (it will take me some time, because it's not only about translating words, but fitting the text on the context where it's placed).

- In Spanish language
I'm taking the translation of the Spanish language, since I have 'native' level of Spanish language (just be patient, because my free time varies, and some days I have less free time than other days). When my translation is finished, I will attach the file on this forum.

I hope someone else do the same with the Italian language.

HTML & templates / Spanish translation template for v2.4 RC3...

I'm updating my Spanish translation template (diff) [the previous version is located here], to be used with the default template of the future hfs24rc3.exe (still not released at the time of posting this), or to be temporary used with the template I've already uploaded here (see the post here).

Beta / Changes needed in default template for v2.4 RC3
« on: March 18, 2019, 11:46:47 PM »
while testing languages-addon, i found some strings in hfs.tpl not translated:
"Search" (line 105) and "Delete" (line 154) in hfs24rc2
Good find! :) There were TOO many strings (more than 15 changes) that were needed to be modified in the default template. Check the attached 'hfs.tpl' along with the updated spanish translation diff, that I've updated here... ;)

I'm uploading the modified file so Rejetto could use it in a future hfs24rc3.exe (obviously, he could see the changes using an online service like DiffNow or viewing a report of changes, that I've also upload here). I've also changed the "48em to 50em" thing (as it was previously reported here, and accepted by Rejetto here). Any experienced user is welcome to confirm and verify if my modifications are good or not... ;)

» Silly question: does "hfs.diff.tpl" ONLY works on sub-folders? (because currently, if "hfs.diff.tpl" is on root, it doesn't work). Is that the normal behavior? (it doesn't should work on root too?).

Bug reports / Re: New info about this possible bug...
« on: March 18, 2019, 11:22:06 PM »
Hi, I see HFS.Events there, but I don't know how do remove Content-Length header, using this file, to test it...
Make a file named "HFS.Events" with this:

Code: [Select]
{.remove header|Content-Length.}
{.remove header|Content-Length.}

Report back if that solved your problem.

Bug reports / Re: New info about this possible bug...
« on: March 16, 2019, 10:05:04 PM »
OK, now we are doing some progress (your info will help Rejetto catch the bug)

» Summarizing:

HFS v2.3k and previous versions are working without this error.

So, according to your reports, this error was introduced on version 2.3m.

» Another important questions: you said (here) that you were also running another server (to have PHP functions). Are you running that server along with HFS?. Does this error still happen when you close that another server? (this information is needed to debug this error, and to know if this is some kind of incompatibility). And lastly, what version of Chrome are you using?...

» Note to Rejetto: it seems this happens when multiple distinct 'Content-Length' headers are received. According THIS StackoverFlow answer, 'if you do not specify "Transfer-Encoding" and you include multiple lengths it will throw this very error'. Anyway, to me it seems a error is client side related, not directly related to the server (but you know more than me).

Bug reports / Re: HFS not able to start.
« on: March 16, 2019, 06:20:54 AM »
Apologies for the post on a older thread. I had this issue.
A working fix (on Windows 10 1809) was to disable the "Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support" in Windows Region Settings.
(found under Region -> Administrative tab -> Language for non-Unicode programs -> Change system locale... -> Checkbox - Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support)
@Rejetto: Perhaps THIS article could give some 'light' to make a fix for HFS (a fix for another program is also HERE). It seems a change in Windows 10 1803 update, sets UTF-8 support for single byte character and likely breaks a lot of applications not expecting this (a simply fix could be making HFS ignore this setting?).

Hi boss !  ;)

No sources for these RC ?
I also join the petition, but I guess Rejetto is waiting to release the stable version to release the sources. Perhaps he plans to release the final v2.4 stable version soon?... 8)

@username1565: You also posted a possible 'exploit' here, and now by seeing this error I would suggest you may need to do a complete scan with an 'offline' antivirus on your system (since that error is not normal). You can choose one option from THIS or THIS list. As far I know, is impossible that HFS had make those *.vbs files, so, I'm almost sure you have something wrong on your PC.

Just to be sure the problem is related to HFS, is recommended that you open HFS alone, starting with a new clean configuration (and without using any modified template). To do this, copy "hfs.exe" in a new folder (which should be clean, without any other files inside), and you also need to create (an put in that same folder), an empty text file named "hfs.ini" (or else HFS will use the settings stored in your Windows registry). And before running your new clean HFS, you must close any other HFS instance you may have running, and it's also recommended to stop any other web server you could be running. That way, if you find an error, it will be more related to HFS than to any other software you could have running.

About v2.3m, the file checksum is fine, so you can safely ignore all those 'false positives'. The antivirus industry is getting more and more useless and rude, along with using a kind of extortion technique, forcing developers 'code signing' their software. Most of those 'false positives' are reporting a PUA (Potentially Unwanted Application), just because HFS is a web server (which on theory could 'leak' files from a computer, but that's of course the nature of any web server: sharing files the user choose).

Although is very important to report bugs or errors (and it's appreciated), any reported error must be reproducible, and you should give detailed steps to reproduce the issue.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Method allowed
« on: March 16, 2019, 05:28:44 AM »
I guess somebody with Delphi/Pascal knowledge could contribute to add this feature, since the component used by HFS (OverbyteIcsV7Gold), already contains the possibility of making use of the 'PUT method' (in the file 'Delphi\Vc32\OverbyteIcsHttpProt.pas' says that this option was added on 'May 09, 2003 V1.52 Implemented PUT method').

But it's not easy to implement in HFS if you have poor programming knowledge level. If someone is interested on this, HERE is some code written by some user from another web server (perhaps it could contain something useful, I haven't analyzed). Anyway, anyone is welcome to contribute on this... ;)
