stunnel keeps a log...

Unless you disabled it..
it should tell you what public ip attempted to connect to you...

Not a correct way, was looking for the stunnel conf line to log, but this should also help:
https://github.com/arusso/puppet-stunnel/issues/8
------example...
What to do when stunnel fails
Firstly, the most important things to try when you are having trouble running stunnel is to:
run with full debug mode "debug = 7" in stunnel config
if running the daemon, run it in the foreground foreground = yes
Doing this gives you the best chance of catching the errors in the log on the screen.
along with other ip conections...
----------------
http://www.stunnel.org/static/stunnel.html
*********
log = append | overwrite
log file handling

This option allows to choose whether the log file (specified with the output option) is appended or overwritten when opened or re-opened.

default: append

output = FILE
append log messages to a file

/dev/stdout device can be used to send log messages to the standard output (for example to log them with daemontools splogger).
********************

now that we have public ips that connected with tie stamp...
 since hfs had the bad password attempt time stamped...

I would recomend you to downlaod peer blocker
downlaod link:
http://www.peerblock.com/releases/public-releases/peerblock-1.2.0-r693

and add the ip address at that time to permantly block the ip in peer blocker.

*Stunnel log has the public ip that attempt access.

peer blocker is one of many solutions... although i do think hfs in the acount for with in the program should incormapte security rules such as (pasword history/length/complexsit and time out...)

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Uploads not getting saved to PC
« on: December 28, 2014, 07:50:15 PM »
which embedded device are you using? some phones/game station have file access limits that prevent uploading and downloading of data.

double check some hfs gui side permission that might be causing issues

does your windows side real folder have access right to write files?
IE, does hfs have the proper folder access to write the file?
if you don't know, try adding everyone with full access to the windows folder.

https://translate.google.com/

Why not run both at the same time?

Unknown why you would want to run a http file server and a torrent hash server... together...

To define this is a http web server duties:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc770634.aspx
Quote: " lets you share information with users on the Internet, an intranet, or an extranet. "
Link more defining: *What Are Web Servers?

Now that we know what a web server is lets go over Torents:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent
Quote: "is a protocol for the practice of peer-to-peer file sharing"

other than that, i don't know ho you would add the protocal to hfs without runing a torent program alsong side it...
------------------------
Take FHFS, it runs "filezila" alongside it to add the protocol, the same is true with (silent plz) https with "stunnel".

I'm sorry, currently there is no integration or to my knowledge of any P2P integration with HFS. You would have to run HFS and your Torrent program to link and share your files...

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: How to use domain name instead of static IP?

in HFS (YOU MUST BE IN EXPERT MODE):

Menu > ip adress > custom

*DON NOT INCLUDE "http://"
in the box type out the domain name...

Make sure you have proper port forwarding and a staic ip setup to the machine running hfs!

---------
Windows:
most time when you buy a domain they come with a dynamic updater...

ps3 google code working for ps3 media share..etc..etc...

https://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/

@rejetto:
I believe he is tying to setup a way to transfer files via http to put items on the ps3... the above website is a google based project meant for that, when i had a ps3 the program above worked for me.

As for your issue in hfs, if you have added it as a real folder, the folder sholud be in the path
c:\Program Files\PS3Porta\img

as "img" should be added as a real folder.

***(Further more, as hfs is a self excutable, you have to put HFS in that folder path)... as such for the sounds of it, you anr't using hfs as hfs done't install in the myprogram path FHFS does... as such you shouuld reinstall with it being the default don't change a thing!)

to further help you as i don't think you are using hfs / fhfs, please post a link / download to what and where you recieved your program...
-------------------------------------------------------------------***

Because you are located in the programs files folder, you need to fix windows side permissons.

c:\Program Files\PS3Porta\img needs to be corected:

Apply your new folder permissions:

Right Mouse click > Properties > Security tab > Advance button
Advance security settings for fhfs > permissions tab >
In the drop down list you will need these users/groups and apply full control to them all

Uncheck the box "include inheritable permissions form the objects parent
*(IF asked click add the users/groups)
these groups need to be added:
System
Administrators
Users
these users need to be added:
(Your current user name)%user
Trustedinstaller
everyone
Creator Owner

a possible program before windows vista sniping tool:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/use-snipping-tool-capture-screen-shots#1TC=windows-7

http://lightscreen.en.softonic.com/
Light screen is a print screen program that take a picture and saves it to a picture in a default folder path...

http://www.autohotkey.com/

You can use a macro ie a script to hit the print screen button to put it in the folder every once in a while (or push it/ the button your self).. (the "Print Screen" button on the keyboard or by script via onscreen keyboard....)

http://www.winautomation.com/
AS for hfs and copy-ing the full url path, you could do the same with the marco script to hit the print screen and open the program add file / copy url path...

There are free version of some software.. links to software that i have use and had success with...

thought it might help...:

Run program as admin user:
cmd comand line would be:
( http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12903629/how-do-i-run-a-program-from-command-prompt-as-a-different-user-and-as-an-admin )

batch script---
@echooff
cd \
cd webroot
runas /noprofile /user:Administrator hfs.exe

http://www.rejetto.com/forum/hfs-~-http-file-server/automatic-refresh-of-the-content-of-the-virtual-folder/msg1059069/#msg1059069

Restart program/service:

if that is the case you can have hfs save on exit and make a scheduled task every hor to close and reopen hfs:

----batch to close and then open the program-------

@echo off

:: clears the screen
cls

:: Enter your process name below
tskill HFS

:: Enter the service name here (can be found in services.msc)
::net stop "your service name here"

:: pauses for 5 seconds
echo waiting 5 seconds before restart
PING 192.168.1.1 -n 1 -w 5000 >NUL

:: starts the service you just stopped or any other service you type the name of
::net start "your service name here"

:: starts the program without opening a new command window
start C:\WEBroot\HFS.exe

:: pauses for 5 seconds
echo waiting 5 seconds before restart
PING 192.168.1.1 -n 1 -w 5000 >NUL

:: clears the screen again
cls

:: echos the following
::echo The requested program and service has been restarted. Press any key to exit.
echo DONE

:: tells them to press any key to close the prompt
:: you can remove this and the previous line if you just want the window to close
:: personally, I like this so the person who ran it knows it was run successfully
::pause
exit

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Displaying poster art for movies
« on: November 21, 2014, 05:21:02 AM »
html coding is required..
see http://v4e.thewikies.com/

---
html code:
<img alt="Big Buck Bunny" src="http://sandbox.thewikies.com/vfe-generator/images/big-buck-bunny_poster.jpg" width="640" height="360" title="No video playback capabilities, please download the video below" />
---
see link: http://www.rejetto.com/forum/everything-else/media-server-template-please-help/msg1059954/#msg1059954
example html:

<a title="Title the item" " href="Link to downlaod">
<img src="Link to cover art" alt="Caover are title" /></a>
---------------
Possibele if you want't only 1 pick for them all...:

http://www.rejetto.com/forum/html-templates/shared-templates/

if using live template
in zip folder path:
hfs live 3.0: template\blue\images\icons
blue can be either: (Blue/red/black...depends on template color picked used...)

in the file path, icon pics goes to file extension (if extension not listed, then you might have to add it to the tpl...
Other wise go to a picture, and you can edit the tpl to add/change icons
 (this make it the same on all the file type, not 1 for each individual...)

But i recommend you use the link above fill out info and html source is used below...

Bug reports / Re: Can't add files to HFS...
« on: November 19, 2014, 07:59:01 PM »
ok, quick correction. I can add items if i do it manually directly from the HFS window, but thats kinda a hassle. If I can provide any screenshots to help, I can. Also if it will help, the address to the server is at http://GC.FearsNet.com or http://MC.FearNetwork.Net . Not sure if that will help to find a conflicting item or something related.

so you are able to add files via your uplad folder?
-- also i recomend addind a user account to "protect files"

in iis stack over flow:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/233507/how-to-log-out-user-from-web-site-using-basic-authentication

---------
essentail what your waning to make the website/hfs do it:

Basic Authentication wasn't designed to manage logging out. You can do it, but not completely automatically.

What you have to do is have the user click a logout link, and send a ‘401 Unauthorized’ in response, using the same realm and at the same URL folder level as the normal 401 you send requesting a login.

They must be directed to input wrong credentials next, eg. a blank username-and-password, and in response you send back a “You have successfully logged out” page. The wrong/blank credentials will then overwrite the previous correct credentials.

In short, the logout script inverts the logic of the login script, only returning the success page if the user isn't passing the right credentials.

The question is whether the somewhat curious “don't enter your password” password box will meet user acceptance. Password managers that try to auto-fill the password can also get in the way here.

Edit to add in response to comment: re-log-in is a slightly different problem (unless you require a two-step logout/login obviously). You have to reject (401) the first attempt to access the relogin link, than accept the second (which presumably has a different username/password). There are a few ways you could do this. One would be to include the current username in the logout link (eg. /relogin?username), and reject when the credentials match the username.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Old question but...
« on: November 12, 2014, 09:33:18 PM »
as previously posted in the forums you might have seen, it has to do with many factors..

For instance lets take fire fox here:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-login-issues-on-websites-require-passwords
fire fox, use cookies to hold its authentication (there more and other but to jsut simlfy...)
the "login " are in cookies form..

In order to log out you must clear the cookie cache and or delete browsing data...
In actuality, it is a browser issues not HFS...

Hfs is only authenticating the log in and is not supplying a current session (to log out) ....
as (multiply random ports open for normal web trafic)

Now for instance,  In chrome (the same is true) except you have to delete some user data cache...

in Internet explorer, you can (might be able, not tested...) accomplish this via the "nomerge" option:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968341
-----------------

As for the issue at hand, HFS to my knowledge doesn't have the functionality to act to accommodate all Authentication Methods... Example: login and log out...

There are other known web programs that do suchas

(ubuntu LAMP) http://httpd.apache.org/ using .htacess on apache
Windows IIS...http://www.iis.net/ ...

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee825205(v=cs.10).aspx

---
Although i think the programs such as rejeto might incorporate this later on.(hfs server side and webs side configuration and login and logout windows/funcatility

http://www.rejetto.com/forum/hfs-~-http-file-server/hfs-and-phpmysql/msg1059118/#msg1059118
(kind of why i was pushing a while back to incorapter PHP... mabe in hfs 3.0 or for quite some good time... )

I was able to get php to work a little in hfs:
see youbte link: (30 min going overe php login and logout-acount creations...)
