what is the URL of the folder?
you can omit the server/IP part, to keep it private

How?
You can contact me on telegram or gmail chat, and we can have a closer look at what you need

Only worked for already good folders (attached a pic)

ok but what do you see on "bad" folders ?

What scares me is that I'll need to rebuild everything from scratch.
if you want I can try to help you with that

try to have on screen the result, so maybe the problem will be clearer.
The easier way is to have {.decodeuri|%item-url%.} duplicated, after your code. That should make it visible.

Did you consider using HFS 3?

if the website is trying to get the video as https, while your server is only serving http, that's not going to work.
But even if you fix this and load with http, you'll probably get the error that Leo said. That's a limit of the browser.

By the way, a little offtopic with Mozilla experience: in 2.3m and HFS 3 all unprotected .mp4 videos are opened as blank page with audio only and player controls (Opera and Chrome are fine). Do you have idea what to do?

mp4 is not always the same, you can have files requiring different "codecs".
Your browser will support only some, and another browser may support different ones.
So a file that's played in Chrome may not be played in Firefox, but also some files won't play in no browser.
If you get the audio only, it's because video and audio codecs are different, so Firefox is apparently supporting that specific audio codec but not the video codec.
There's no solution that I know. In time a browser can support more formats.

yes, let's-encrypt is a good way to make your certificates, it can be tricky, tho. Try following their instructions.
Hopefully a future version of hfs 3 will make it easier.

Anyway, you should first confirm the problem the way I said. Press F12 and look at errors in the console.

Leo had a good idea, but it's important that you look at possible errors in console as he said, otherwise it's hard to know what the problem is.

« on: August 08, 2023, 07:50:02 AM »
hey, user should find the "change password" after the login, but only if the account is member of the group "can change password".
This is for HFS 2.*

in HFS 3 all users can change password at the moment. https://github.com/rejetto/hfs

on HFS 2, if remember correctly, you just add a favicon.ico file in the root

ciao e ben ritrovato! :D scusa il ritardo ma non mi sono arrivate le notifiche.
HFS 3 non รจ adatto a tunnelare una connessione.
Io comunque ho tiscali come isp e non noto nessun problema con bittorrent.

hey, I gave a quick look and I didn't found any way, even by modifying the template, to get what you want with HFS 2.* .

What you are asking is anyway already available in HFS 3. You may consider that

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: How to use save in HFS Server
« on: July 06, 2023, 10:26:20 AM »
1. you are talking about where to save options. To understand those options you should know what is windows registry and how it works.
My suggestion for those who don't know is to save options to "file"

vfs is separated from "options", and it's always on file. It's ok to replace as you do.
I don't know what you mean by "database". The ini file is for options.

2. to backup you need both the ini and vfs file

3. hfs 2.3 is compatible and requires no extra steps that i can recall.
hfs 3 is almost official and already available. Thousands of people are already using it. HFS 3 is not compatible with 2, and you must re-do your configuration.

4. i'm not sure, sorry. Version 2.2f is 14 years old. My suggestion is that you use something newer.
