HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Download rate limit 2 at a time
« on: February 11, 2019, 01:57:08 PM »
i don't understand your problem.
You should limit downloads, not connection, as connections are used also for browsing.
If you set the limit to 2, then it should not "crash" your hfs. What do you mean by crash?

I'm sorry I didn't answer before but I'm on a 3weeks travel. The problem may be with the size of the request. I'm not sure, as I'm not at the computer right now. It would be useful for you'd send me the full request privately to
Anyway I hope to come with further information soon, as I'm returning to the hotel.

i don't think the async is the problem: indeed the server has no way to distinguish it, it's totally a client matter.
The problem, getting a 405, is surely a cross-domain request.

Anyway, in your jsfiddle points to a php file, so i don't see how HFS can be involved.

the problem exists but i didn't find a solution.
The %s is not the problem: "total out" works for example. It must be something else. :-\
The problem is not even the changing, because "switch on" and "switch off" do the same, but work.
I'm sorry, but i'm quite lost.
I'm now leaving for a 3-weeks journey in India and Nepal. I can't say about my availability next days.

i tried with the "Switch ON" and it worked, so it's the exe.
try this

very strange.
HFS currently ignores the hostname, it makes no use of it (sadly), so i'd rather say that probably HFS is not the real cause of the problem.
i have no idea, but i would proceed with more tests.
You say that you see the connections established.
What is the "source" ip of the connection?
is the connection dropped?
Is any byte exchanged?
if anything is exchanged, what?
what if i telnet to it, instead of using a browser?
what if i connect from a different computer?
what from a different network?

it does the same to me. I don't know why it seems to ignore the fact that i've been converting many constants to "resourcestring".
I will investigate it.

apparently i had to use the "build", so it generated a .drc file, and then kdlscan worked correctly.
You'll find all new strings at the end.
Sorry for keeping you waiting.

Could you please generate a new base language file (hfs.lng), because I've generated a new one (using kdlscan.exe and lngupdate.exe), but I can't find any new string to translate (and neither any new modification is found).

it does the same to me. I don't know why it seems to ignore the fact that i've been converting many constants to "resourcestring".

You could solve this, changing 48em to 50em:

ok, it seems a quite safe fix to do, so i'll introduce it without testing it myself

• Another thing more: "developer notes.txt" needs this line to be added:
Code: [Select]
Kryvich's Delphi Localizer

it is already there

The main idea is adding "a cookie-based login system", so modern mobile browsers could use a form based login system (and not rely on that old and obsolete login popup that most new browsers are now deprecating).

such thing was actually ongoing years ago, then with the hiatus i've lost track of the progress.
i won't consider it for this version anyway, as it would mean further delaying in the publishing of an official update.

it's single-core

Hi, just passing by, and I see you are all still busy. HFS has come a long way (I still remember the good old days when it started). No reason to stop it. :)

hi Mark, nice to see you around :)

are still using today a Geo-Location database from webnet77 (which is updated daily).

interesting. I'm not sure when this may come in the future, tho.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: ban on the run
« on: January 06, 2019, 12:50:48 PM »
sorry for the late reply.
i can only think of one method at the moment, and it's to use the "-c" parameter to manipulate the "ban-list" entry

this works if you have the "only 1 instance" enabled. Instead of running another hfs, all parameters will be passed to the running one.

this is just to write. Maybe it's possible to have a read/write solution, by having the settings saved to file (menu > save options > to file) that you can read when it changes.
