HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Firing an event on macro completion
« on: October 23, 2019, 01:55:31 PM »
do you already know the {.exec.} command ?
if you use the "out" parameter i'm pretty sure it will wait for the execution to complete,
then you may use the {.exists.} command

hi! events in HFS were introduced to execute scripts when something happens.
In your case it's a script that will cause another script to be executed, so events are not needed.
To call a script from another script you have at least 2 ways

- you put the script inside a section, for example [MySection] and then to execute it you will use {.$MySection.}

- you put the script inside a variable/function, using {.set|MyScript|{: *******  :}.} and then to execute it you will use {.^MyScript.}

i can think of a solution based on a "script".
Commands that may interest you are
- add folder|real|my data
- set item|diff template
- set ini

There are many ways to execute this script, when you finish writing it.
PRobably the easiest is to copy/paste it on Menu > debug > run script
Another possibility is that you put it in a tpl file in the [special:import] section, so that it will be executed when you drag&drop the tpl on hfs (you can also pass it through command line, directly or through -c load-tpl-from=filename).

hi, websockets are nice, but hfs is missing much more basic features, considering its file-server nature :)

I truly have no idea.
Did you try rebooting, of course.
Windows 10 is compatible.

it's not a feature HFS gives you, but i think it's technically possible using diff template and a user group.
I wouldn't advice trying unless you are practical with "computer languages".
I'll leave you some draft stuff that needs some more work probably

Code: [Select]
{.if| {.and|%item-comment% = ban| {.member of| my-special-group-of-users.} /and.} |

omething like this would go in the diff template of the home item

if it doesn't work even inside your local network, then it must be the windows (or other) firewall. Check that

it may even be a plugin of the browser

Welcome Shu!
Honestly it's strange. I just tried on my Android device to terminate the browser and when I accessed again I was asked again to login.
Can you try with a different browser?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: User Database - Restore how?
« on: May 08, 2019, 03:30:56 PM »
welcome Paul!
the users are stored in the configuration, separated from the file system.
By default the options (configuration) is saved in the windows' registry, and may not be handy for backups.
If you prefer you just have to "save options" > to file
and you get an "hfs.ini" that you can backup together with your .vfs file

welcome Dianne,
if you search around this forum you'll find that the "false positives" are common and well known problem.

I don't understand what file is to be "opened" and not "downloaded". What type of file?
I'll anticipate that your problem is probably under Menu > other > open directly in browser

sadly there are a lot of these false positives

alternatively truncate string
.item-link { overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis }

didn't test it, but i don't like the idea of truncating the file names. What when you have a difference at the end of them (a common case): you cannot tell the difference anymore.
