I started HFS, bbrowsing some folders, then try to close HFS.

hey there I run HFS on a homenetwork. My typical music, ebooks, cd images, etc etc. Altogether +- 280GB and HFS does not quite list all the folders or files.... I open up then add it everything works fine. Safe the directory layout close open and only half of it is there. Is there a limit on the VFS amount of files? If there is I'm kinda buggered..... Anyone have any ideas on a workaround? Oh and I use no physical folders....
thanx in advance... :)

Did you enable start\exit->autosave VFS + reload VFS on startup ?

Hi Rafi Sorry I'm on the otherside of the world. Yes I do have autosave on... still The directories are all there under root. But as soon as we delve in under that then there are some directories which are complete and some not. We have four standard hdd's in the machine. the machine ran stable all the way through without problems. Untill Yesterday - then all of a sudden we have this funny problem pop up. I personally are guessing there are too many folders... no idea really... being blonde is hard work... and the pay is very bad....

Just small idea for people with slow upload. Automatic adding of caching domain to file links (but no to html ones) like with coral network one ".nyud.net:8090".

If you use it for whole server the file indexes wont be refreshed like they shuld becouse cache servers dont check for changes every time somones calls page (you can set expiration date when server will check but it wont work well with small often changing fileservers).

More about Coral http://wiki.coralcdn.org

...What is Coral?
Coral is peer-to-peer content distribution network, comprised of a world-wide network of web proxies and nameservers. It allows a user to run a web site that offers high performance and meets huge demand, all for the price of a $50/month cable modem.

To be honest, I don't know exactly what he was trying to say...
I guess the VFS is cached in memory anyway, and so are the file links (if not, it would be a good idea). Talking about confusion... :drunk:
