after you give upload permissions, use the "hide tree" option on the folder.
if you prefer to disable the "browsable" option instead, you'll need to link people to the "upload".

what i was planning to do is create an upload account. i am using the beta.

everyone using that account will be directed to an upload page.

1. create a folder, then allow everyone to upload -- this folder is not even hidden
2. create a user and redirect user to "that folder"/~upload

when i logged in - doesn't go to that page. - only at home?
i also tried your suggestions - but i was targeting once logged it ---> to upload page on a specific folder - more like dumping files

thanx for the quick reply.

Switch to expert mode.  Select Menu -> Other Options -> User Accounts

Select the account you want to go directly to your Upload page after he logs in and in the box "after ~login redirect to" put in /uploads/ (or whatever folder name you called it).

Done.

p.s. you could also use "Levels" if there are multiple accounts involved.

sorry i'm not that good, but a little higher than a nub,

thank you for all your help guy!!! you've been great!

to maverick - that's what i did but i doesn't go to the upload page.  --
ex. i created an account upup - "account is redirected to "http://192.168.1.250/Uploads/~upload"
i also tried redirect to "http://192.168.1.250/Uploads"
i also tried redirect to "/Uploads"
i also tried redirect to "/Uploads/~uploads"

but when i log in it only goes to "http://192.168.1.250/"

have been able to make redirect work?can you send me the redirect string that you guys us on your systems?

my goal is to make a user go directly to the upload page for them to dump files without looking at the folders.
thank you!!!!!!!  :D

How about 'restrict access' and 'upload permissions'?  Are they set properly for the  people you want to let access to your upload folder and page?

i'm trying it with just 1 account - account name upup - allow upload and download.
account is redirected to http://192.168.1.250/uploads/~upload

only 1 folder named uploads  - i wanted the upup account to go directly to http://192.168.1.250/uploads/~upload

that should be possible right? but when i log in it stays on http://192.168.1.250 - can you simulate it on your HFS?

ok, i found a bug that prevents you from linking to ~upload.
Fixed in next beta.

Anyway, this bug should not behave the way you say, so maybe your problem is that you are not using the "login" link, but just clicking on the folder. This way the redirection doesn't work.

If you haven't found a solution yet you might read

I set up a folder from this info, that redirects to the upload form. Didn't try redirecting on
log in to that folder, but it should work? Might be a good idea to test it with a lot of files to see
if theres any lag on redirect.
