I am interested in this program for thumbnails, i use reajpg for mine, but i have noticed that after a few files (15 or so) it starts to fail on the file sizes and then i have to go through and compress them myself, icky, *wants to know the plans for this thumbnail program* :)
Also is there a way for me to test the mp3player on your site and how your using it? cause if you are using it like me and are using a single tiny player/ file. i have been working on a flash one that is now only 1.19kb. i found that the jeorwignenensdwhatever one is a bit bloated for my use.

Hehe :P, well, its a .BAT file actually. A .BAT file that's using an external program to compress them.
The file is almost done (only needs to be tested).
One of the important features is that it is highly adjustable!

lol i missed out!, didn't get to test it!, if your using it as a simple play/stop button like i do i am working on a flash one that is real tiny to hopefully take the load off the host pc and the user :) that Jeroen Wijering one looks for a playlist first then reverts back to a single file player, which is useless in my case and a waste of effort on many levels lol, a preview of this one i am editing in its earlier stages is here:

I was referring to the request of That_Stevens_Guy, he wanted me to set up a test folder with the flashplayer enabled in it.
Anyway, the flashplayer in my server is working correctly, i still don't know what you are doing wrong XD.
What exactly is not working? Are you able to see the flashplayer at all?
Better yet: If you type ~files.lst right next to your url (E.g. http://exampleaddress/music/~files.lst), then what do you see?

The Flashplayer in my template is not showing up next to each individual mp3 file, instead, there is only one player in the same box where the %folder-comment% of the current folder shows up. So my flashplayer DOES use a playlist wich is automatically created by the "Filelist.tpl".
It doesn't take long to load actually, only 1 or 2 (maybe 4 seconds if you have more than 100 songs in a folder) until its ready to go. And its not consuming a lot of CPU on both server or clientside (Im using an old PIII, 500Mhz as a server).
If you want i can set up a test folder on my server for ya with some music in it. It'll be up in a few moments. (Link (http://s559149c2.adsl.wanadoo.nl/testmp3player/) <- Online now)

I like that mp3player idea... works very nicely, i will try implement something like this :D although i have had little if no experience with playlists, hence the ToG was never blessed with a full on mp3 player hehe. I am busy converting homevideos to dvd atm so this wont happen for couple of hrs.

Well I've the same behaviour of mine but, also on your server, I'm not able playing songs. If I click-on mp3player's arrow's nothing appened :'(
In your server but also in mine, always there is a late or freeze in downloading the mp3.png (http//anyserver/template/icons/mp3.png) like you can see in img 001

That's something i cant edit, because i don't know how to edit Flash ::). I am using the Flash Player from Jeroen Wijering, so maybe you can go to his website (http://"http://www.jeroenwijering.com/") and ask it on his forum.

When i was busy creating this post, i realized he (Jeroen Wijering) released a new version of his MP3 player. This version will be included in the next release, but you can also download and replace the old one yourself. I dont know if it the new version supports chinese characters, if not, you can always ask him on his forum.

I'm afraid that i know why your mp3 player isnt working as it should be.. It's because you are using Internet Explorer. :-\
I don't know why, but Internet Explorer doesn't show the ~files.lst as it's supposed to do. FireFox on the other hand, does show it correctly, and therefore IS able to play the FlashPlayer.
Until there is a solution to this, i sugest you download and install FireFox and i'll put a big image to "get FireFox today!" instead of the FlashPlayer in the next release ;).

I have IE6 installed on my computer, so maybe thats why i cant get the ~files.lst to work here.
But if IE6 is the only browser that does not support the file list as how it is now, then the solution should be simple: Just update your browser.

Just a note ... IE6 does work with ~files.lst. (at least it works ok here). It must be something in your javascript that it doesn't like. I'm not using the javascript option with mp3player.

Testing: HFS 2.1c version 078 (tnx rejetto) + opera (tnx opear team) + terayon (tnx GiantEagle) + folder with about 1000 songs :o

If you check back the changelog of the previous versions of HFS,
u will see rejetto was trying the fix a unicode problem.
unicode have many advantages, and since there is no problem on using unicode now,
why not use it?

Giant Eagle's template is in Italian almost all; the diff template for rendering player is still in english, but don't worry ...

I don't know how but in my pcs works only with Opera (I've not tested with Firefox) works never with IE6 and IE7 ??? :'(
p.s.: works also with Firefox; Microsoft IE is AVSS (a very strange software)

The one thing I still don't get about flashplayer used for playlist is why the listener would have to be stuck with Hfs open in order to listen ? *.wpl or *.mu3 do the trick well enought (playlist/track by track/ burn cd/ copy etc.)
I like to think people connected to Hfs like wandering over different directories of Hfs without cutting the music off ...

Perhaps, for cutting music off problem, should be possible open a folder in another internet windows like Firefox, Opera and now IE7 ? :-\
In any case with Opera is possible streaming directly some video file in .swf and this is a nice thing. ;D

v1.2 has a pop-up player, so you dont have to keep the browsing page open. But if you really want to play the music in your personal media player, then why dont you download the music.. After all, it IS a fileserver, not a music box. I see the mp3 streamer to "Preview" the music before you download it. But hey :D who am i.

And nice work here guys. We are also working on other methods of mp3 streaming (mucho js), but not much is happening because my computer is being hogged by vhs - dvd conversion and i cbf setting up my router to this old one haha.

After all, it IS a fileserver, not a music box. I see the mp3 streamer to "Preview" the music before you download it.
My thoughts about it : I would hate file-serving loads of single files ... it would make a carbon-copy like of a data base that already exist elsewhere (i.e Media Center). I also need extra flexibility to build my own playlists to share (year/type/most played/best of, etc.) that's why I populate mostly *.wpl .mu3 playlist within Hfs (config. is all at the beginning of "the mp3 streamer" post it)

I've also added a registration button for siteadmin@.....
and repeated this string in sections [nofile] and [file]

I'll restore the playlist so that multiple media players support it (m3u format). So that the users can choose to listen it in their favorite media player and still being able to browse other folders.
Also it will be better if the path string can be clicked to go directly to any branch of the tree, not only to where we already are.

- Support for .FLV and .SWF files (using the Flash Media Player), and 2 new Icons for these extensions (50% done)
- Lots of IE bugs fixed, mostly Layout problems. But iv'e also fixed the massive LAG in IE (this was caused by the PNG fix, to make them transparent in IE. Solution: Converted all the icons to .JPG) (99%? if i find new ones ill try to fix them)
- When you press the upload button, youll get redirected to a page where you can see the current upload speed and percent. (only the concept)
... Cant think of anything else at the moment :D

you should use javascript to split the path by the character "/".

I noticed this as well.. When you're banned, HFS wont let you download anything from the template folder anymore. which makes sense in a way :)
your flash mp3 player can't paly any chinese nor japanese files.Can you fix them? thx.
Don't tell me just use unicode , windows doesn't support them with the original files.
Well, since i'm not the original creator of the Flash Player, and since i am not an expert when it comes to editing flash files.. I don't see anything I can do about it. Sorry. :-\

I dont think there is a way to change the current flash player to another language.. I'm sorry. If you know a flashplayer that does support multi languages, then please give me the link to it.
For your browser problem; the flash player seems to have problems on some computers with Internet Explorer, thats one of the reasons i want to implement another flash player. For the time being, i suggest you use firefox.

Yes, im afraid so. But with this new option, its now possible to listen to the music in your favorite media player using the filelist generator. :)

I do have a workaround for the player that can display chinese and plays it wells on Internet Explorer 6.
But one thing is i have to change back to normal mp3 flash player than i generate a new "XML" list for it which encoded as BIG5.
What i think is the flash player might be support any languages(as shown just like a picture style).But i think the HFS *.m3u generator can't make the list to the languages we want , it only generates the UNICODE Characters , so it can't display on the player.
Here's the question again:
1. Is there any workaround that enables HFS generates the "XML" playlist with the language we want?
2. Can this template's flash player supports user to make their own "XML" playlist than plays on it?(As this is the last resort that user might want to have their language back)
3. Can the next version of template's support pop up flash player and plays well on every Internet Explorer?
4. The flash player display the Album photos in Rectangular size.....Strange.... :o

probably yes , because when we see the link from the browser , it's "http://xxx.com/%AAACC%BC%C.mp3"in the list.(Those "%AAACC" are the chinese words or japanese).After the convert to the list on the flash player is something like this "|,<<|:p" .It should be unicode language but unable to display.Which turns out unable to gather the link,so it can't be played.
Is there any workaround with it???

true, it is forced to be that way.
i don't remember why, we could experiment it, but it is time for stability now, not experiments. such change may affect other things.
in the sources the change would be

Well, while we are being waiting for the new version I attach the translation in Italian of the various files for V1.1.
Be careful because the mp3 reader doesn't work well with IE (6 - 7), at least in my tests and therefore you have 2 options:
1) you not feel music :'(
2) you install another browser (Work and FIREFOX works very well) :D
There are some small differences among files named:
HFS Terayon v1.1_ITA.tpl
and
HFS Terayon v1.1_ITA_REGISTER_MARQUEERED_all.tpl
the first is +/- like the original .tpl but in italian lng
the second, have a Register section pointing to an email address to insert (webmaster e-mail),
the info on Folders, File and Total repeated twice (up and down) and a marquee message with HFS logo

:D :D :D Yo! thx for all support. I have a fix that can make the IE 6 and IE 7 works perfectly with that flash player and it can display the language you like inside the playlist (even japanese and chinese).
I will post it out later that you all guys can do a experiment on it. ;) ;) ;)

v1.2 is still incomplete.. and what use would it be to release a version which still has bugs in it and isnt complete..
You can, however, keep track of what is going on. Just go to my "Template Test Zone (http://s559149c2.adsl.wanadoo.nl/template%20test%20zone/)" where you can test the latest beta version.
Then again.. I am busy completing the current project and then release a stable release of this template.. (i hope). So, just be patient for a little longer :)

Terayon is, in my opinion ex aequo* with Thuderchicken of Glory.
The problem is that I don't know which choose ;D are both too nice ;D

Well the choice is simple, if you have a server running on a nice internet speed (512k+ upstream i think, it doesn't load too nice on my 256k), without counted uploads, and computer power is not a problem... then i will admit the Terayon is a very nice choice.
Giant Eagle has joined forces on the Thunderchicken of Glory project, the idea behind the 'ToG' is to have a power packed template that is feature packed, efficient, small, not a resource hog (cpu, ram etc..), well coded and would probably even work ok on an isdn internet connection. :o Whereas the Terayon with all those snazzy images and stuff it is not recommended for people with internet like us poor souls here in Australia with some people on plans with counted uploads and low speeds (128k :-\ before i upgraded).
So far joint code efforts include the mp3 player open/close javascript by all 3 of us, even rejetto jumped in to help us on that one :D Then there is the current directory code, Giant Eagle created the 1st version, then i put in ideas, and flynsarmy improved it cause he is pro like that lol. Just the other day flynsarmy and I made an add upload input code. And we also have a joint effort on the actual mp3 player itself lol.
We hope to continue to share code and ideas to hopefully build 2 beautiful templates, you will see a lot more of ToG/Terayon new template features in each template, this is of course depending on the type of feature it is, this is all because they are now from a joint effort haha :D

I have been using hfs webserver with terayon v1.1 template for a couple of weeks with my huge satisfaction. You did a great job functionally and also in terms of available service. Not mentioning the look of terayon template. This is the perfect solution for me to share my own stuff within the family without sending large materials by e-mail.
However I have an enormous problem.
I’ve decided to publish this problem here, in this topic because I am not sure this fault caused by hfs or the applied template.:-(
Well, the problem is:
After setting up hfs the server is not available/cannot display to everybody. As a general rule 2 of 10 attempts were unsuccessful no matter using IE or Firefox. I can’t really see what is the problem, but it seems to me the server is avoid to connect only from certain IP addresses. However, I can see them trying to connect the page in the server’s status log, but the site isn’t
display for them. There is no problem with my settings, the IP addresses are not banned, theoretically anybody can connect. There isn’t any restriction, they are not behind routers, so that’s why I don’t understand the reason of the fault.
Has somebody ever realise a fault like this? If you have any idea, which may help me to fix it, please do not hesitate to react.

I cant figure out your problem, it could have something to do with your upload speed, what is it?
Also are these people seeing like a white page, or a white page with links.
Or is it simply timing out, but this doesn't seem to be the case, cause u can see it in the log.
Giant Eagle might know the answer, i don't use such big templates on my server to reduce this occurance. I only have 256k upstream.
Hope we can fix this if it is a template issue.

Have you tried using the Default template? Can the ppl connect then, or do they still time-out?

Then this means they aren't connecting to your computer properly.
Either the IP hasnt updated, if you use a DNS. Or you give them the wrong IP to connect on.
Your router/modem or something is somehow not working, u may need to open DMZ or Port Forward them.

Anyway, the release date of HFS Terayon v1.2 will be next week! no matter what, i will release it next week.
Mainly cause im free from school next week so i can work on the template a lil more.
Another reason for me to set the release date is that i now "HAVE" to work on it next week ;D, altho i dont want to rush it.

- Check for Updates
Im currently working on an "Update Checker". It's a new feature in v1.2.0 that, if you open it, will check for the latest available release on my server and notify you if there is an update. It will be located in the Template folder. so you have to access it directly, cause most of you 'hide' the template folder. E.g. http://fileserveraddress/template/CheckForUpdates.html
That_Stevens_Guy also wants to implement this feature into the ToG. This feature is nearing completion, so i think it will be released with the next release of both the ToG and Terayon.
- Template size
I reduced every image and icon in size with about 60 - 80%. This will make the Template alot more attractive to ppl with a slower bandwith. (The quality that has been lost is almost unnoticeable)
- Topic name
I changed the topic name to "HFS Terayon - Converted Template", not much of an update but i think its easier for ppl to find this topic with that name.
