HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Suggestion:To save about 50% bandwidth

I notice that hfs has a option "compressed browsing",it can compress index pages,and save bandwidth.
but hfs can't compress files. Maybe hfs can add a function just like gzip or modd-z of ftp.
It will save about 50% bandwidth when file is txt/doc.

Bug reports / Can't open "C:\Documents and Settings"

I add "Documents and Settings" to hfs as a real folder,but i can open it with firefox,and get a blank page in IE.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / ips-ever-connected (more than 54900 and get a question)

ips-ever-connected is about 15000 in 24 hours.

20071111.hfs.ini.txt size is 212KB.

minimize to tray,memory usage:4.6MB, virtual memory usage:12MB

now ips is more than 50000.

when i click "add to hfs" to add a file to hfs,I can see two hfs.exe in task manager,one is normal,the other is use up almost 100% cpu and continue for about 10 seconds. then a hfs.exe is disappear. if reset ips-ever-connected, all is ok.


I think it can be repeated with my hfs.ini

I can't find the option "limits -->Max connections (from single address)" .

I think it's a useful option.

when I set 5 for "Max connections from single address", user can only download file with 5 connection, at same time,user can also browse folder page. But now can't set max connections.

I download 128,it has "limits -->Max connections (from single address)".

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / About "apache log file format"

I set "apache log file format" with "%h %l %u %t "%r" %>s %b"
but log was not accepted by WebLog Expert, because character "九月" can't be recognized by weblog expert.

I changed "九月" to "Sep", it work normal.
Is there any way to output regular log file?

a file with long name,such as aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaae.txt


folder include that file can't loaded.

and can't be uploaded.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Virtual folder haven't "No download"

Real folder have a option "No download" , But I don't konw why Virtual folder haven't  "No download" .

If I want to enable a virtual folder with "no download", I must to get into the virtual folder and check every sub real folder.

So if a virtual folder have many virtual and real subfolder, it may be a hard work.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Stealth mode to hides tray icon

Sometimes I want HFS auto start and be invisible from the desktop ,so I wish HFS have a option to start up with stealth mode to hide tray icon.

And can turn the Stealth mode off, select HFS from the Start / Programs menu  or other way to restore tray icon.

Bug reports / download limit didn't work when client down a archivable link

when client download a archivable folder (~folder.tar?recursive) with many simultaneous  connections,

hfs can not limit the connections ,even set limit at "max download simultaneous from single addr" and "max simultaneous  downloads". limit isn't work with archivable folder links.

but the limit is work well when client down a single file.

After hfs running about one week,The amount of "addresses ever connected" will be very large,maybe more than 2000.

This make hfs.ini too fat.  I Think that the ip addresses stored at a single txt file will be fine.

when mouse point at download speed graph,dieplay "pink=out yellow=in" .I think the the time show at the position where mouse point at is necessary. We can lookup any moment's speed.

I wish hfs have a option to disable connection list, just like "log to screen" can be disable.
Connection list is be updated uninterruptedly when file is download.
i have observed that "updated uninterruptedly" can make more CPU Usage. so i suggest to have a option to disable "show Connection list".

Bug reports / simultaneously upload and download

I found that after one user login in ,he can't upload and download simultaneously.

no matter if i leave blank to "max simultaneous downloads from single address" .

even i set user's "ignore limit".


it's can't with firefox.
ie is ok.
