HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Completed download removed in build #xx?
« on: September 10, 2007, 01:25:22 AM »
Thought about it, as I saw it in the newer builds but whatever, I needed to fix the main host drive to X and not J which makes all the refrences to files go bad, so I just recreated it, took like 15 minutes + account creation time.

Still a great product.

Thanks,
-Kurt

For upload its this but most of you know already:  Fully uploaded -  211.78 KB @ 478 KB/s

Why don't I see a Fully downloaded anymore?  If for some reason It was never there and I just assumed it would be could it be added please?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Completed download removed in build #xx?
« on: September 09, 2007, 02:35:44 AM »
Hey, I got HFS when it was in build 119 and I remember when things completed I saw something like -- filename.filetype Download completed or sucessful or something but now I only see it for upload. is my mind playing tricks on me or was it also shown for Downloads and not just uploads, now when people download things regardless of what they they are it never shows it in the log. I have everything checked in the Log list.

Am I missing something terribly obvious?

Thanks,
-Kurt

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: User access time
« on: September 08, 2007, 10:02:54 AM »
Checked to do list, and dont see this though.  How about setting speed limits based on time of day. ie lets say I want to send a big file overnight and my roommates are asleep at 1am, and I want it to kick back to restricted by 7am.

So from 1am to 7am there is no limit on speed but after that it reverts to be X amount of kb.

Checking to do list again.

Beta / Re: Testing build #131
« on: September 08, 2007, 09:53:24 AM »
Hey, got a new bug with 131.  If limits arent set then there is no updating Time left and the progress bar is not accurate, its too late to post screenshots, if no one else has this i'll just wait for 132 or redownload 131 but does anyone else have this, for me its usually it sits like its not downloading at all for a good 5 seconds and then jumps to 512kb down then goes away and does this throughout the entire download.

With limits set it shows the data in realtime.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Updates sub menu...

Home from work.
Here is what comes to mind

Core groups:

Download Options -- Limits, Max Connections, etc
Upload Options -- Limits, <What is already there>
Program Options -- Start/Tray/Launch Options (Inluding Flash Taskbutton)
Connection-specific -- IP Address, Accep Connections on, DDNS
Virtual File System -- <More or less how it is now>
Miscellanious (sp) Options -- <What serves as other options now>

About could be put next to the Port section that is not within the menu, as well as some other core often-used options.

**One thing I'd really like to see** Have Save File system and Save options into a button next to Port, and (potentially About) but thats because I use it alot, what do others think?  THERE IS ALOT OF ROOM NEXT TO "YOU ARE IN EXPERT/EASY MODE", Might be a good idea to use it. I'd also really like to see a Quicksave (saves filesystem and options as they are to a qs1 qs2.vfs that can be renamed later to be made the primary) Is uninstall really needed, most people would just control a and hit delete.

Help
Updates
Web Links

Other route, would be a File, Edit, View, etc layout, what do other people think?

I know i'm more or less and noobus but the menu is okay to work with but some sorting options to make it 9 core menus instead of 15, might be aestetically a plus.  When I'm not running to work I'll try to group them logically to me, Its fine as it is but it seems like its just a bunch of "bloat". Simple example would be to group like IP Address, accept connections on, and dynamic dns withina  core group called "Connection-specific".  Give some thought on the wording but what do others think?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Is this the right spot for requests?
« on: September 06, 2007, 07:02:11 AM »
We've got some of the tightest security in the state (because we are state owned :) and it gets through with an HTTP connect, I think its more likely you have a firewall blocking it. McAfee is a really pain to get working when it blocks logmein but usually it doesnt.

If you know who to ask see if HTTP connects are supported on your network. Let me know if you need specifics but you seem like you know what your doing.

go to www.logmein.com

got only 443 and 8080 for proxy open at work and it gets through regardless, fails first connect but gets through on HTTP connect. works grand, free version works for most peoples needs.

new beta you can try out since your new has remote sound for other uses.
