I've been HFS for some time now and I am very happy with it-Definitely the best personal server program I have used. Some suggestions:
I would like to be able to restart my server and have HFS start along with it. Of course, I could that myself, but unless I am missing something, I see no way for my settings (Folders shared and User Permissions) to start along with the program. I have to set these options every time I start HFS. Saving to File is helpful, but only seems to save my User list, NOT my permissions and chosen shared folders. Again, if I am missing something obvious along these lines, please let me know.
By the way, I have been using the Beta version and I have no stability problems whatsoever. For what it's worth, I like HFS being a Stand-Alone program (although I would love to have all of the options stored within the executable and not in a separate file). These are not complaints-just suggestions. This is a terrific piece of software and I plan to continue to use it and suggest it to my fellow geeks. Thanks!

you are missing "save file system" in the main menu
till now you only used "save options"

almost no software save options in the executable, i guess you are searching for: save options -> to registry
this will create no other file

Thank you for the prompt reply. I'm impressed with your diligence. Your tips were very helpful and will save me quite a bit of time in the future. For some reason I thought that the "Save File System" option only worked with Virtual Folders (which I don't use).
What I would love would be for HFS to load the file system on restart (with no user intervention). That way I could restart my server remotely (I'm often away from home) and have the HFS server up and running with every reboot. I don't see any way to do this, but such a capability would be most welcome. Thanks again for your excellent software and support.

it is already there: "reopen on startup VFS previously open"

Kick ass! It works just great. I remotely restarted my server and in just a couple minutes everything was back on line and configured perfectly. Thanks again for your prompt attention and excellent software.
