I ran the latest HFS (2.3k) on a new system and the app created context menu reg entries, but I'm curious where the other settings are being stored.  I know there's a save options menu, but I'm wondering where the current settings are being kept since changes are not lost after closing hfs. Under Debug, I can see the customized options so they must reside somewhere.

As I mentioned in my post, I know about menu -> Save options, but I don't want to save anything. I'm just curios where the settings are being kept for use  by hfs. The settings  are still present somewhere when none have been saved. Maybe rejetto can answer this.

there is a hidden hfs ini file inside the executable along with the default template.

it is saved and stored in the exe path upon launch/ and with in the exe file itself.

you've missed the "bold selection" that mars specified.
He meant that that indicates the current location.

The bold selection says (save)  to registry (current user), but  nothing is placed in the registry until you use this option. The answer from bmartino1 makes sense as to why I cannot find any of the settings until I actually save them using the save options menu.

"there is a hidden hfs ini file inside the executable along with the default template."

Edit: I see now why I was mislead about where the settings are kept. When I checked the registry all I saw was a single entry with a name of Default. What I did not realize was that the settings are written to the registry as one big single string. I went under the assumption that the individual settings would show as separate entries and thought there were no settings there  :-[

by default HFS saves settings to the registry.

The INI hidden in the exe file is the default settings, not YOUR settings.
