...a Thank You button. I occasionally feel the urge to thank others for useful information.

I have researched this, there is 2 plugins that will do it.

Both are by the same author, one is like the phpBB style, and only has thanks for the first post in the thread. The other allows thanks for all posts in the thread.

rejetto can decide which one suits best. I like how the vB style one hides the thanks and shows them when you click a link. I don't really like how it shows the thanks given and received (maybe seen for profile though) in the persons avatar area. But maybe with some small modification that can be removed. It is hard to decide which is the better plugin for this forum, the vB style seems more detailed. I also think only registered users should be allowed to thank, otherwise we'll get bot central.

i installed the vb-style plugin, but i don't see the thank you buttons yet.
i enabled first 2 options in "features > thank-o-matic"
and first 2 options in "permissions > regular members > thank-o-matic"

That's strange, can't say I have had much experience with SMF plugins though.

it took me hours to get this working.
very smart from them to name a field "thank_you_post_enable" and have 1 to disable it, and 0 to enable it.
