I have dial up. Upon setting a password and username on my files, after rebooting, I could connect to dial up, but it won't find the internet. What can I do to get my internet back? Please, if you have ANY info that may help, let me know. Thanks. I'll gladly give any other info as well.

If Dave is on dial-up (56k modem etc. - not highspeed), I doubt he would be using a router.

Dave, you cannot connect to yourself with your external IP address if that is what you are trying.  Only someone from the outside (a friend etc.) could connect to your HFS server using your external IP address.  You can test your HFS setup by selecting browse from the HFS gui or by using the IP address 127.0.0.1.

Running a server on dial-up would give only limited success as it is to slow.

In fact, he can. The external IP problem is a limitation of NAT, which he's not using. If he only has a modem, he doesn't have an internal IP at all. The localhost/127.0.0.1 thingy works, though.  :)
