hi i´m from germany so sry for my bad english
i use hfs for long time now i like it very much because its easy to use
but sometimes when someone trys to download something from me my upload speed stucks @ 1-2 kbyte/sek and it only loads up every few seconds :(
i tried many things out but nothing helped
maybe its a problem with my router but ive foorwarded the port i m using in hfs
-
sry the headline is wron 6mbit down / 768kbyte up
-
are you sure it's your fault?
are you using p2p software like emule?
-
i already reinstalled my windows xp but the problem is still there
yes i m using emule and azureus so the portfoorwarding should be ok
-
Are you using them AT THE SAME TIME as HFS? P2P programs eat your bandwidth easily.

-
other programs are already consuming all your upload speed.
make your choice.
-
no they are not consuming my upload speed when they are closed ::)
-
and what's the upload speed emule is running while open?
-
i always limit the upload speed in emule to 10kbyte/sek
but in azureus i normally upload to my closed community tracker with 60-85kbyte/sek
-
the sum is your 768kbps
no idea why HFS is slow to you
-
jipee
the new hfs 2.2 fixed the problem in which hfs sometimes was very slow
i don´t know what you did in this version but i thank you very much :)

next time when rejetto says that he have no idea of something, dont feel frustated. this guy seems to have mystique power..

Massimo Potter?
;D
-
Hehe, no :)
see the what's new in 2.2 and you will see
[NEW] smarter bandwidth division (between connections)
the engine has been touched
;)
so, this may be related to the fixing...
-
s*** the failure is there again
a while it seemed to be fixed but now the server again only uploads every few seconds a few packets :-\
-
did the problem come back after changing HFS version ?
-
the problem comes and goes sometimes the server works for a few files normal and then again sometimes it uploads only every few sseconds with 2-10 kbps
meanwhile i got a 10mbit connection sometimes it works and i get 120 kbyte/sek upload and sometimes it only uploads every few seconds some bytes :-\
-
i think it must be a problem with my router because i got the same problem at my notebook and another computer which was connected to the router
its a netgear mr814-v3
-
you can do 2 things
1. when it is slow, use www.speedtest.net to see if it's HFS or your connection.
2. when it is slow, try using another similar software instead of HFS and see if it has the same problem.
both things are to address if it is HFS' fault or not.
-
i have done many speedtests i have 10546kbit/sek download and 1098 kbit upload speed i have made a picture of an upload so you can see how the problem looks like i have opened hfs and netlimiter (no it is not limiting) to show the results of an upload

In the picture you showing, HFS is going at 120 in that moment.
Anyway, i suggested you to do the speed test WHILE the problem is there, it doens't matter if you made many tests in the past.
My suggestions last.
-
in this picture i marked the time in which the problem is there and the time in which it is running normal.
in other upload programs there is never a time in which it doesnt run with normal upload speeds
-
can you tell me what test did you perform about other upload programs?
-
i use tools like azureus to upload torrents and there i always have normal upload speeds
and i have done several upload speed tests
it´s definitely not a problem with my internet connection
-
I suggest using a something to test your upload that isn't a torrent client because torrent clients use multiple connections to achieve the high upload speed and so the only thing that it proves is that your internet connection can max out it's upload bandwidth. Instead though you want to test it using a single threaded connection, for that I suggest using a different server software and/or the online speed test's which I think you have already done. I highly recommend trying a different server software though.

yes ive done many upload speed tests
the upload speed when i´m sending something over icq is normal too
