no, of course, because updates should be tested, then it would beta, not final

PLEASE, if you make link for downloading HFS somewhere, don't use a direct link to the file but use
http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/?f=dl&id=exe
that's the link you find on the website.
this way i can count downloads.
the program is free so let me know at least how many times it gets downloaded.

Great job Rejetto, well done and  very good support. Merci ! (http://www.rejetto.com/forum/images/smiles/approve2.gif) A big compliment for the new HFS webpage too. Replaced old hfs.exe by new one; hfs.ini, hfs.tpl, hfs.txt, hfs.vfs and shortcut in Documents and Settings\Administrateur\SendTo were overtaken after restarting the program, all is well working. yes a bug. since it is minor and less than 24h passed since releasing ver2, i just reuploaded the fixed version.
redownload manually to get this bug fixed. the check for update won't notice new versions.

Em, HFS is a good ware, I just want to transliterate it into chinese, I try to compile the hfs' sources, but the compiler always notice me : [Fatal Error] hfs.dpr(36): File not found: 'ftmExceptionForm.dcu'

It seems lost 'ftmExceptionForm.dcu'. I can't find this file in delphi 6's directory. Is that file in "C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi6\Lib\Debug" ?

I get this error, too. I think it is because of the recent change concerning the '+' character... :?

Code: [Select]
.../~upload+progress
In Firefox, there is no button 'Add progress frame' at all... I don't get it. (edit: the button reappears if I turn Javascript on, but many people (including me) have it disabled for good reasons)
In IE (yuck) and Opera, I get 404.

If I use
Code: [Select]

yes, the default template requires javascript.

As rejetto said, the default template requires javascript for the add progress frame option to be available.  It was always that way - for all browsers.  Like you, I don't travel the internet with javascript enabled for many reasons.  To make my customized template more user friendly for everybody, I don't use the add progress frame option at all (and therefore wasn't affected by that '+' bug).  I use the open progress window option instead (that I also customized) and it works very well.  It is always available for users with or without javascript enabled.

The new hfs2.0final is working fine here, but there is one thing i found it strange: My old vfs which worked with the old hfs2.0beta44 and hfs2.0beta46, had been accepted by the new hfs2.0final, and hfs2.0final started with it (Menu > Save file system done too), but one day later suddenly it did not start with it ("Loading vfs" stopped in progress). The hfs2.0final started only without that vfs. So i had to make this vfs new - and then it worked. How it comes?
Title: 2.0 has come
Post by: rejetto on March 30, 2006, 10:35:34 AM
maybe you pressed SPACE, or clicked, or any thing that canceled the loading..?

you say you had to make it new...so your vfs file was deleted? are you sure?
Title: 2.0 has come
Post by: Anonymous on March 30, 2006, 02:29:01 PM
No Rejetto i didn't cancel the loading. Normally after rebooting Windows hfs2.0 starts by autostart (i made a link for this many months ago). That link refers to a "hfs.exe" and i pay attention that every new beta introduced into the folder Programmes\HFS is called "hfs.exe" for that the autostart works. But this time after rebooting Windows "Loading vfs" stopped in progress, and hfs2.0 didn't start. Then i evacuated the vfs from that folder, and started hsf2.0 manually: hfs2.0 started but logically without any files in the virtual file system. Then i closed hfs2.0 and put the vfs back into that hfs2.0-folder: hfs2.0 didn't start again. It seemed to me that my vfs got corrupted, therefore i created all files for a new vfs and then all was working well. How did the vfs-file get corrupted?

Sorry "Guest - Posted: Thu Mar 30, 2006 3:29 pm " is me :) Forgot to login first before answering. By the way, i put the checkmark many times into "Log me on automatically each visit: [  ]".
From this moment on i made (10) screenshots of all my virtual folders and virtual files (yellow colour) in the Virtual file system (vfs), so that next time it will be easier to recreate it. The one for upload must be a real folder (red colour), for sure.

Great job, Thanks!

One small glitch that I noticed: When I upgraded  (form bata 31) it warned me that my ban list is corrupted (I had one IP & comment there ...).
The ban list looked fine, and did not happen the second time I started HFS... ;)

it is NOT a glitch, it's me paying so much attention to warning users about things

the message is:

Please verify it.

Right, Mark, and the help should be done as soon as possible i think, as it's from "Last edit: 23 Feb 2004" - and called in Menu - Help - "Full Guide", whereas it's not complete, look "The Log to be done", "Realm to be done" :)

Ciao Rejetto,
i could write you a german and french documentation - if somebody writes an english one. And i always wait helping to create a "HFS language pack" also called "Translation file" as i offered you on 2006-03-30:

Quote
A language pack is also called "Translation file" and is a small language dictionary file for a program to be introduced which enables the program to show its interface in foreign language words instead of those in english.
Those language-packs are normally written by users of that program.
For further informations please refer to http://www.bitwiseim.com/transinstr.php for example.
Another example is http://www.winamp.com/plugins/browse.php?search=yes&filter=C&query=language : all these language-packs have been written by winamp-users.
Or Spybot - Search & Destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org .
Almost http://izarc.de.vu > Download > below: Download-Seiten des Entwicklers > Multilanguage Support > Translate IZArc in your language > If you want to translate IZArc in your language, you have to do a few simple things: .........
THERE you have an example how to do it. Imagine: HFS in 53 languages :)
The advantage: a french user who is competent in french and english can translate the language dictionary file in french for users who do not understand english. So they can use the program with a french interface.
Those language dictionary files can be downloaded for great programs on their internet-sites.
I hope to do it soon. Translation is my profession. :)

OK, Rejetto, we will do so then. I will translate you the "HFS - Full Guide": "A guide to HFS" as well as the "Language pack", also called "Translation file" into german and french as soon as you have written them in english.
In the future then, there would be a new button in the menu called "Language", maybe before ON/OFF, between ON/OFF and MENU, in the Menu or behind.
Or, we would have different hfs.exe, such as an english hfs2.0en.exe, a french one hfs2.0fr.exe, and the german hfs2.0de.exe, everyone with its own "HFS - Full Guide": "A guide to HFS", "HFS - Guide Complet": "Un guide pour HFS", "HFS - Vollständige Anleitung": "Eine Anleitung zu HFS".
Would be nice to have also an italian hfs2.0it.exe - as i know some italian friends who do not feel firm in english and would like to use HFS.
I will install Borland Delphi 6 Personal (CD).zip now (60102 kb). Got a key from http://www.borland.com/downloads/download_delphi.html , Personal, platform Windows, version 6, release date 06/01/2002. Should match i think.
A piu tarde,
Yves

about the guide, since we started few days ago with english guide, maybe it is a good idea to wait a month before you translate. several pages will be edited and improved in the while.

I will install Borland Delphi 6 Personal (CD).zip now (60102 kb).
if you install it only to translate HFS, my advice is to not do it.
in the near future i hope to have a version of HFS that you can translate just using a resource editor.
about external language files, maybe in the future, can't promise.

Yes Rejetto i agree, i saw this on that wiki-site, and i thought it would be better to wait some time as there would be, i suppose, many changes in translation, as the guide-text to translate would change all the time.

Borland Delphi 6 Personal is installed and registered now, well working. I'm looking now how the compiling-function is working.

Super! HFS will soon also be in portugese! http://www.ipanema.com/rio/basics/e/language.htm : "Although Brazil is surrounded by Spanish-speaking countries, the language here is Portuguese. Your Spanish will help a lot, though. Most Cariocas http://www.ipanema.com/rio/basics/e/people.htm#people understand it, if spoken slowly." So then also spanish people should understand portugese.
I knew it, HFS gets more important. :)

hi iron :)
i'd like to see HFS 3, but i also like well done things.
i now want HFS 2 to have all things it deserves, so spending my time on documentation, submitting to software websites, and other things long to say: i will do a usability study on HFS 2. it is my thesis.
just wait and see

In the forum you mentioned a couple of times that there is a v2.0a of HFS Final.  Is that the version available from your pages - http://www.rejetto.com/hfs ?

If so, maybe make a version change on those pages as well as to the filename so everybody knows.

Mmm, i love what you've done with this in the last few months. I take it, from what i've seen in the other threads, that you zapped that nasty ProcessQ bug, or that it's extremely rare, now.
