Dyndns is a dynamic dns service so dynamic external IP addresses can be used with servers.  The dyndns service instantly updates its dns tables with new IP addresses as they change.

Buying a domain does not get you dynamic dns service or any dns service.  You still have to buy it unless the place that sells you the domain gives this service to their customers with the domain.  I don't think go daddy gives you any kind of dns service unless your website is with them.

So your assumption that buying a domain replaces dynamic dns service is completely wrong.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Uploading or downloading folders

Are there any plans to allow folders with multiple files in them to be upload or downloaded?  If there is a way now to do it,  I haven't figured it out.  I have a web hosting company and trying to help people to upload website folders via FTP client is sometimes a nightmare.  Your server is much simpler.  A client isn't necessary like using FTP.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: New version: 2.3a

Is the software that has the 2_3 file name really the new version.  When the software is opened, it says ver 2.3 build 289?  (same as previous version)

The 10.1.10.x IP address is the ip of the router in your cable modem.  If you have a router which it sounds like you do then call your ISP and ask them to bridge the router in your modem.  Then you will see your external IP address at the wan port of YOUR router.  There is no advantage in double nat'ing using 2 routers.  You only need 1 router.  Those old SMC routers in their modems were not very versatile.  Your Dlink is much more capable of a router.
