HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Prevent system standby on network activity
« on: January 02, 2010, 10:40:40 AM »
Does this hfs-feature recognize any network traffic on the Server-PC or does it only recognize traffic "within" HFS?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Events
« on: December 28, 2009, 02:36:08 PM »
Hi,

I tried several times in the past to use event-scripts but I never had any luck. Simple examples to enter in the hfs.events did not work with my HFS-installation.

Now installed HFS on another PC to experiment with some templates and template changes and I tried hfs-events again.
Event-sripts work here without any problem.

What could be the difference in both installations that make either hfs.events work or not?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Weblink in real folder
« on: December 11, 2009, 07:16:42 PM »
Hi,

I want to place some weblinks in a real folder but don't get it working.

It is possible to add a Weblink with HFS but it is not shown in the browser.
If I place an Url-Link in the harddisk-folder it is shown but looks very ugly with the Suffix "url". When I click on this Link in the browser I am asked waht to do with it.

Can someone tell me the right way to do it.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Update HFS and folder permissions
« on: August 10, 2009, 11:31:26 AM »
I have some accounts, that have a personal Download and Upload folder and permission is only for this single account.
After updating HFS online I lost all folder permissions for these individual accounts. They were all set to "Any Account".
The first time when this happed some months ago, I just repaired the restrictions and did not think about it further on.

Now updating on the latest Beta it happened again.
Do you have any idea, what might cause this?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Archivable for folder level
« on: March 21, 2009, 01:08:20 PM »
Hi,

I have a real folder with 4 levels of subfolders and thousands of files in it.
Is there a way to make the subfolders archivable at a special level.
Naturally I don't want to  allow users to make an archive of the complete folder an even not of the 3 next levels, because that would mean really big archives.
But I would like to make the subfolder of the fourth level archivable.

Is there a way to do this without including hundreds of subfolders of this fourth level in the VFS?

RAWR-Designs / RAWR-Player: Uninterrupted playing and directory changing
« on: August 05, 2008, 02:48:25 PM »
Hi,

when a user plays a mp3 and wants to change the directory and look for other files the player stops playing.
Would it be possible to change this behaviour so that the player only stops if another file is selected and not if someone switches to another directory?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Filter on "Flag as new"
« on: March 25, 2008, 09:23:39 AM »
Hi,

I would like to see the "NEW-Flag" only if there are new files according to the filter-mask of the folder.
Is that possible or would that be a new feature?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Feature: Prevent hibernate and standby
« on: February 24, 2008, 06:33:43 PM »
Hi,

I configured my HFS-PC to hibernate after some time of idleness. The server is only used for a closed group of people I know. All of them know how to wake this PC with "wake on lan" and HFS is ready to respond within 15 seconds after the wol-command.
This would be perfect if Windows would allow network traffic or harddisk activity to reset the idle-timer. So far I see no way to tell this to windows. As far that I know the idle-timer only gets a reset by real user-activity with mouse or keyboard. Even another wol-packet does not reset the idle-timer. Therefore it sometimes happens, that Windows hibernates during a download or upload.

It would be perfect if HFS could reset the idle-timer, whenever there is activity initialized by a client.

RAWR-Designs / Shoutbox: delete entries
« on: January 12, 2008, 11:35:03 AM »
I have activated the shoutbox know and it works.

Anyway I can't find a way to really delete entries.
I went to the website of myshoutbox.com and deleted some entries. They are no longer shown there.

But if I look at my HFS-site these entries remain there.
Why?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Download-Speed
« on: January 07, 2008, 06:02:49 PM »
Hi,

I have to complain, that my upload-speed (=download-speed for myself as external) is too fast.  ;)

My DSL-Connection allows about 2000 KBit/s download and about 370 KBit/s upload.
So naturally if someone in the internet downloads a file from my HFS there is a maximum speed of about 40 KB/s, limited because of my low upload-speed.

But if I test my connection myself and download a file from my HFS (Internet, not localhost) I get exactly the double-speed of about 80 KB/s.
I am behind a router. The router ist my gateway and my DNS-Server.
Does anyone have an explanation, why the speed is so high? What is different to the access from an external client?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Folders in an horizontal line
« on: January 04, 2008, 06:47:16 PM »
Hi,

my MP3s are getting more and more.
The structure of my folders is:
1. Capital of Artist
2. Artist
3. Song

If you navigate there are a lot of folders that aligned vertically excced the visible part of the window. You have to scroll down nearly every window to see all capitals and artists.
The MP3s naturally need a lot of space for the filename and the descriptions, but not for the folder-names (capitals of artists and name of artists).

So it would be perfect for me, if I could use the space more econimically and align the capitals of the artists in an horizontal line at the top of the window and to list the artists after chosing a capital in at leat two rows beneath.

I don't know enough about HFS and templates to understand, whether this would be possible. In my opinion it would be necessary to define different ways of listing for sections of folder-trees.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Descript.ion from IPTC-Data
« on: January 02, 2008, 11:52:37 AM »
I am already using DESCRIPT.ION-Files for the detailed description of MP3s in my HFS-folders. http://www.rejetto.com/forum/index.php?topic=4600.0

It would be even more important for me, to show detailed information of my JPGs. As I use the IPTC-Standard to catagorize my photos it would be ideal to have a tool that is capable of extracting specified keyword out of the IPTC-data, that is stored in the photos.

All I found till now are programs that are able to export all IPTC-data in CSV. What I need instead is a tool, that is able to export in descprit.ion and with which I can specify which fields of the IPTC I want and specify personal descriptions of the keywords.

Is there any tool, that is capable of this?
Naturally it would be ideal if HFS would be capable of this.  ;)

RAWR-Designs / Preview size of JPGs
« on: January 02, 2008, 09:51:04 AM »
As the resolution of the monitors get higher and higher (my 20" has 1600:1200), the preview size of the JPGs gets rather small with 320x240.
Therefore I would like to make the preview a little bit larger. I think this is possible without loosing too much performance.

What do I have to change in ToG?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Icons changing with new build
« on: December 08, 2007, 10:45:57 AM »
I use a template with
img src="/~img##" to display build-in icons.

When there is a new build of HFS the icons are changing.
Is there any way to avoid this other than take external icon-sources?
