HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Internal IP address keeps changing
« on: June 04, 2014, 07:20:58 PM »
just open router settings and set "lease time" to forever.

2
click on : Meny -  Upload - Number on files instead of overwriting

that "turns it on or off"

i dont have skype.

are you trying yourself to connect to your hfs server?
if you have an older or a cheap router it wont support the loopback to your own ip.
ask a frend to try.
or try here : http://rxproxy.com/index.php
enter your ip and try.

are you sure your port is open?
start hfs.exe and goto www.canyouseeme.org
and do the test with correct port.
if you get that it works then it will work when your frends will try.

do you have a router , if you do you have to open choosen port and point that to the computer that hfs is running on.
www.portforward.com
find your router and follow the guide.

now open google and type : my ip , press enter
google will now tell you your ip.
tell that to your frend and ask him to try.
dont forget to put http:// before the ip and port after (if you choosen port 80 you dont have to do that.)
so if you choose port 8080 if shud look like this : http://123.123.123.123:8080
123.123.123.123 is just an example ip.

if you choosen port 80 just type like this : http://123.123.123.123
all web pages you visit on the net use port 80 as standard.

most people have a dynamic ip (it changes every time you connect to internet)

as Rejetto says , if you do use a no-ip or dyndns adress.
an updater for that is in the hfs itself.

simple.

look at this.

see the / at the end.
same happends on your page.
so your "links" is /?mode=section&id=lib.js

therefor you will get 2 /
www.yoursite.com//?mode=section&id=lib.js
it will be like that.

ask your frends what filesystem they have.
older computers have fat32 as filesystem , and that has a size limit at 4 gigabyte.

how big is your iso files?

use the local ip to the router instead.
if you dont know it open a cmd window and type : ipconfig then hit enter
there you will se the "gateway ip"
it shud be something like this : 192.168.1.1
then just use http://192.168.1.1
with some routers you can also just type : http://router

or try this page.

http://rxproxy.com/index.php

old routers dont support the loopback when you "visit your own ip"

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: HFS not responding
« on: September 01, 2013, 09:00:40 AM »
first you shud check so you forward your port to correct computer.
routers can sometimes change the internal ip.
very annoying. :)
then your port is open to wrong computer.

check your firewall.
also look in the meny - accept connections on - shud be "any adress"

it has to be a .ico file
this is esay way to do it:

first name your icon to favicon.ico
add your choosen icon to the filelist in hfs.exe
then rightclick on it and choose "properties"
now choose "flags"
check the "hidden" box
press apply and then ok.
done.
