by using "dump traffic" you will be able to give me, in case of bugs, some information that would otherwise require you to install a sniffer.

I have just installed the latest beta from within the update section of 160 > 161.
Silly thing but normally it restarts the http server after the update, Not this time. the installer shut down Http server but I had to start it manually after the update.
Also how often is the IP address checker (selected constantly search for a better address) supposed to run on http server as i have never known it auto update the IP address when my dynamic IP changes?

I've just updates hfs in a remote and a local machine to build #161 without any problem.
fallendevil: Take care that your ip isn't updated before hfs: many routers allready allow automatic DNS update, also you could have running an automatic update program, so hfs doesn't need to update your dinamic IP.

it probably has nothing to do with the build itself. sadly the updater is not perfect, it fails sometimes.

that option is meant for dial-up users with no router, as reported by the documentation (http://www.rejetto.com/wiki/index.php?title=HFS:_Main_menu#IP_address).
if you are using the dynamic dns feature, it handles the update by its own, checking for the external address every 60 seconds.

Can we get the search moved to something like this ;)
The current one is a bit awkward.
Either that or on a slider, so u hit an arrow or the search button (search is aligned to the right) and it slides out to that state.

since I'm using SSL with stunnel, could you please add the ability to have https:// instead of http:// in URLs copied/made by HFS?

Very instable on switch to virtual folder.... ( super long to react )
+ A big crash killing the .vfs file
after using 250 000 items, i have put a lot of real folders converted to virtual folders,
all was ok ( even very long to take all ) until the multi file select and login assign.... first login ok, second login=crash
hfs closed before save and never restart the .vfs load ( the file is damaged )The destroyed vfs file (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q9HX642N)
i have make a new one from an older secu copy to repair.
and always the strange UP button behavior
UP button return one time only to the root from a PHP page iframe, second time a blank one ,
and it Give a blank page in direct URL
a group enable for the restrict access should be very usefull
to enable many login in one click......( user A + B + C = group1 user A + C=group2 etc etc )
how can i manage to do it ?

i see 58k items in your vfs, and it was loaded perfectly, although it took some minutes. why you say it is destroyed?
what's the reason for converting such huge folder from real to virtual?
I think your post is not very related to #161. If you agree, i will move it to the "bug reports".

the reason to use virtual more than real
it is usefull for my audio waves folders,
from a clean only waves folder, when i use sound editors or loop maker, it create data and image files,
these files are visible in a real folder and not taken in the virtual folder.
in virtual folders you can unselect some undesired files ( or it need a real folder browse in HFS enable)
i will try to made the modif step by step and vfs file manual copy before it crash,
i said my vfs file is destroyed because when i try to load it it close hfs, it keep running hfs process in the taskmrg but nothing appears, hfs never re open.
i will be over carefull on the modif size now, i like to boost the machine to see what is enable.
Maybe i pushed a bit more last time, the temp file was over sized.
i will check a slowly modif.

jerome, You can still use real folders for that situation. Using a filter (what's the precise name?) you can tell HFS what files to show inside a real folder. This filter can also be a list. Very useful when displaying large quantities of only a few file types and want to hide everything else.

going on from what unknown8063 said, to use the filter and only show wav file's in the folder you must specify *.wav as the file filter.
Which is found by Right clicking the appropriate folder > Advanced > files filter...

i have restarted from the v 161 brand new template
in a new folder , after uninstall v160 from the menu
i have created new login and pass
to replace older
every time you go in account manager
clic on a name one time ( not2 or it bug and close)
you'll need to wait HFS find all the authorised files for each user...it can take a lot of time
it is a bit strange and very long.
first time it is long
second time it 2 time more long.
and i have a "OUT of MEMORY" message coming at the opening, and after sometimes.
the user account management is very capricious on this version.

I have free the vfs file
because 11000 items take 22Mn to open ( i was thinking a crash at first )
i use only + - 2500 now and all is fast and ok.

If i manage the menu buttons to chose what i need,
i would like to make a html cryptable template enable, to hide more some external links in the code
but mix the java scripts is a bit capricious.
older version can support html crypted script, on this one it give's error ( out of memory message )
i will check more how and where i can place the code, or make without.

recursive listing and folder tar is not always welcome.
If you restrict the access to certain users, the user do not can reach these resources if he has not the good password, and thus even by recursive and folder.tar this resources is not taken

Other fact, the search is not working in protected real folders, only virtual one's.( even logged )
i can't make a 230 000 items vfs template or it will take 40Mn to save and load.
is it enable on the search function to make it? thank you.

An usual iframe in the comment root folder ....
is not properly working with the search button
and also if you have a html page in the root.
in my case i was using an "absolute" iframe insert in root folder comment,
and search result need a "relative" iframe insert to work, if not the frame or the ghost mask the result.
and the root is showing the folders + you need to resize the 2 frames to get a good visual superposition.
( not viable )
The Solution is to create a link button in the root ( with your root IP url as ex) i have not checked with other files,
and comment it with your "absolute" frame.
erase the root comment, or replace it by a smaller search result banner ( position "relative" )
the next step is how to make search enable in real folders ? to free the project.vfs size.
if a menu function exist, i have not find it ;D
