The feature I am looking for would allow you to set up a group and give access to folders for that group.  Then define users in that group.  Still only give username and passwords to the users and not the groups.

This way you set up a multimedia group, and give permissions to all your multimedia files.  Then all the users under this group would also have permissions to this these folders

Also - the "hide" feature can work for lists of either user(s) or group(s)

uh? the hide feature is not related to accounts
maybe it could, but we won't need it when i will implement this feature:
+ Show protected items only to allowed users

Hi!

U'r saying that it will be possible for different users
to see differend files and folders?
I mean 1 have user1 who sees only his stuff and
user2 who sees only his nad they both see the "normal"
stuff? (and ofcoz they dont see the hided folders)

PS: Another thing: Is it possible to build a feature
which tells u that a file in the virtual file system where is exactly?
Vecause if u add many files u forget where they are phisically on ur
hdd. :)

Why do you need this ? You can just put your mouse on the file and see this info inside the tool-tip ...
