HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: indexing ?
« on: July 25, 2007, 09:29:50 PM »
HFS invited me to update to version 2.2a build124.....
Did a backup of my build120 version and updated.

Now HFS runs like Speedy Gonzales (tested also away from home) and problems solved !  :-*

Greetings and respect from a proud user  ;)

ok. the problem is related to the "auto-hide empty folders".
i still need some time to understand what's wrong with it.

Take your time , its not the end of the world...
You may test with the ipadress thats in my ini file if that helps..
(server is nearly 24/7 online)

jes  thats right

ALL earlyer versions (v2.0 v2.1 and v2.2) till build 102 works fine (had to dig for earlyer versions)

ALL versions after that are VERY slow.

Tested with IE Opera and FF , its definately not a browser problem...

i have downgraded step by step to build 102 and then speedproblems are solved and hfs opens really fast !
I have read at the 103build threat that something was changed  whith the code proccesing...
maybe that's the problem..

maybe an option to roll that back in an (non public ?)testversion , so i can test if that works ?

i currently use hfs build 120    and i don't know why , but it takes forever to load my mainpage when i hit the "open in browser" button....
Then there is very much harddisk activity untill the page is loaded (if it opens  :( )
Sometimes   "this page can not be found" error occurs.......
It started from updating to build 108 or something.
Is it a configuring error ? ( configuration was saved and after updates nothing changed with it)

Just found out that loading the mainpage (120 G) or large subdirs takes a lot of time to load.....

greetings from The Netherlands  ;)

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Run HFS as a SERVICE - info here!
« on: June 27, 2007, 03:25:36 PM »
if you look just a little above , you see my link with the tools to create a service.
After that you can configure hfs just normally , because the HFS icon is just where it's normally at..
So ... whith a gui
Succes  ;)

Why serving an old version ??? ??? ???
I run version 2.2 build 102 and it runs rocksolid !
Seems to me that it's a waste of time...............

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: reset the counter in the tray icon
« on: April 05, 2007, 08:16:46 PM »
sorry , above message was mine  :D

What i like is that the screen can be cleared , but the counter stays and counts further.
Maybe an extra option with the logscreen is an good option. what i mean is :
not just "clear" but also "clear Logscreen and reset trayicon" with the rightmouse menu on the logscreen.

i could not find similair in forum
My problem is: My hfs trayicon dispays the number of downloads.
normally i can reset it by rightclicking at the logscreen and do a click on the reset button , or restart hfs .
Now it stays on 373 downloads.
Is it a bug or configuration issue???

Menu > Virtual File System > Reset totals
P.S. @rejetto please return clearing the tray icon by right button of the mouse > clear. Now from the menu is very uncomfortable.

THANX   !!!!!!!!  , problem solved and icon reset  !!!!!

HFS rules and mister Rejetto is my bit-byte-rom hero  ;) ;D

hello mister Rejetto
Good luck with your degree !

i have viewed whole topic and like the merging folders idea , but if it's actually working should there be an option to choose between
standard and merged folders?
Like you said , it has more power but i'm afraid more power can also create a bigger mess :o

Many respect for people with your capability to program such nice software. ;)
