I put the exe of HFS on desktop and start it from there.

I read a post here about putting the swf player to the top level of HFS. Where will the be?

Thank you

they mean the "home".
it's inside the virtual file system.

Yes the '/' 'root' or 'home' level of the HFS. On 'top' of everything else in the virtual file system. Those are the 4 most commonly used terms to describe that part of HFS.

root is used for file systems
home is used for websites

HFS is both of them ;)

OK! I get it. I can see / from HFS console (the interface of HFS) and I can add files to it if I right click and choose add file or folder.

From the browser, I can see the / but I can't upload anything to it because it is a virtual folder.

So I can only add files to / from host computer?

My question is YES I can add files to / through HFS console. But where is the physical location of these files? HFS need no installation so where is the place on the harddisk that become the root or / of HFS?

when you add files, they are NOT copied, they are just "linked".
it is all virtual, that's why it is called virtual file system.
if you want to upload you have to use "real folders".
you can add a folder, and see it will ask for virtual/real.

if you really want to upload to / and not into a sub-folder, you can use right click on the root and "bind root to real-folder", available only in expert mode.
