Title: gateway problem

hi found this little program by chance set it all up forward the port it is on got myself down to no-ip set up a dns host name when i try it on my internal ip works well looks good BUT when friends and family logon nothing they get 502 gateway problem tryed on my phone and it says 502 gateway problem problem with dns host aswell


any help would be good

from within the LAN you must use your internal ip address (usually starting by 10 or 192)
from outside your LAN people must use your external ip address (anything that's not starting by 10, 192 or 127).
I think you are not following these rules at the moment you get the error.

the no-ip is just an alias for the external ip address, so it's useful only from the outside, and you must be sure it is updated.

i have been giving out my ip address you can test if you like
 
78.xxx.xxx.xx
or
.....http.com

this is what i gave out but with no joy

the internal (local) ones work and i can see the web page


would it matter that im running windows home server

protect your uploads family and friends, Otherwise whoever can have access there.  ;)

Ok now all is protected, always remember you that every addition in the vfs is not protected by default.
 ;)
