HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Own IP pings HFS every 5 minutes?
« on: July 29, 2010, 10:13:05 PM »
I've been getting this problem too. Except it's my external IP, and not my internal.
It's been happening since about yesterday as well...

At first it was because I thought that keeping the particular tab open in my browser (from when I "Open in Browser") was what was causing it, but even after I closed the tab, it continues "Requested GET/".

Any ideas anyone?

I'm sorry, I meant my external IP (it was early in the morning). However it is still occurring. Also I'm running build 260 ATM.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Own IP pings HFS every 5 minutes?
« on: July 29, 2010, 02:30:17 PM »
I noticed an issue that cropped up yesterday sometime. Every 5 minutes on the dot I get a "Requested GET/" from my own internal IP. It's really driving me nuts trying to figure out whats causing this.

I know its a long shot, but any ideas on how to trace this and see whats causing this?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Possible to add for logs?
« on: February 26, 2010, 06:29:52 PM »
You mean when you right click the in the Log area?

I can change what it logs, but no way to highlight certain events.

Sorry I know what you mean, the search. Had it moved to the right lol.
That can work, but was thinking something more permanent for multiple items.

You mean when you right click the in the Log area?

I can change what it logs, but no way to highlight certain events.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Possible to add for logs?
« on: February 26, 2010, 04:32:30 PM »
Something I would like to see, if possible, is to highlight certain portions of the log to make them stick out more.

For example:
Highlight the word "Fully Uploaded", "Fully Downloaded", etc.

This is to make it easier to skim through the log vs analyzing every line.

That works, thanks!

It is/was for RAWR template, but I guess its not needed anymore due to updates.

I can delete files just fine in folders that I don't have anything in for Diff Template.

However in folders where I have this in:

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Maybe a complicated question
« on: August 30, 2009, 09:09:55 PM »
A records have no ports, just the IP.
the browser goes to port 80 automatically because it's the default one.
the port redirection is not part of DNS itself, it's actually provided through http.
the DNS points to their machine (not yours), where an http server replies with a redirection to your machine on the desired port.

hope this helps you a bit.

Thanks.
I'm trying to figure out a way to get around this right now so I can host HFS and another Webserver on the same IP. Redirecting HFS to 8080 gives a banner on the bottom of the page from no-ip.com and then HFS 443 doesn't work at all.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Maybe a complicated question
« on: August 28, 2009, 04:53:27 AM »
Ill try to explain this the best I can  :-X

Currently I'm running 2 instances of HFS. Port 80 and 443 (HTTPS)
I have these set up with NO-IP.com to give it a real name.

I recently bought a domain name (2 actually) with GoDaddy.com.  With this domain I set up google apps email (mail.mydomain.net). I want to create a front page for mydomain.net and host it on another web server on my own machine.

Problem I'm running into is that with godaddy I can add a HostA record to my IP (not sure how to keep it updated automatically when my personal IP changes) but its on port 80. I want to forward it to 8080 so it doesn't conflict with HFS. Is there a way to do this?
How about if in NO-IP.com I do a port 80 redirect for HFS to 8080 and let my godaddy domain go to port 80?

Hope this makes sense, I've confused myself on how to go about this.  ???

Thanks for the mod, however this is what it looks like. Had this same issue when doing the original admin panel, any ideas?

Edit: Sorry, forgot to put the folders in rawr_default

Yes but it remains on top even if you decide to take no action (clicking in an empty area on desktop does no longer make it disappear)
Confirmed in Vista x64 (clicking desktop or another window).  But if the hfs window is open, clicking on the hfs window makes the popup disappear.

if the window is open, you can click anywhere.
with no window, you can
- click on a submenu, then anywhere
- or drag&drop any menu item out of the menu
i hope to solve this

Confirmed. Right clicking on the tray icon and the clicking anywhere in windows does not get rid of the menu.

I look forward to an updated RAWR template. the go and download button are definitely confusing to some people that visit.

Beta / Re: problem with the admin panel
« on: May 04, 2009, 01:00:42 PM »
The 'create folder' in the admin panel has some restrictions. The created folder will only appear in your html page if it's created within a real folder that is already added in the HFS tree (although not restricted just to the lower level, but any lower levels). I will try to improve this later on.

Ok, thanks for the info.

Beta / problem with the admin panel
« on: May 04, 2009, 02:54:40 AM »
Probably not the right place for it, not sure though.

I have the RAWR template and also the admin panel to add/create and delete folders.
When creating folders it adds the folder on the HDD, but it doesn't add it as a folder in HFS's panel. Is it possible when creating a new folder via the browser that the folder inherits that users permission's (and/or dupes flags, etc) so that other users can't see it when they log in.
Otherwise I have to go into HFS, add the real folder and set up all the permissions.
Thanks
