It was meant only for people with the problem, not as a default setting in the program.

Maybe you could have the program read the browser character set when it starts and act accordingly, or as a toggle in the program options.

IE 6 is what most of my customers use so that is what I must use.

It was meant to be historical in the sense to not delete it. I did not see any other post on the subject and many other people must run into the same problem since I have seven computers here and all of them use IE 6 and they all had the same problem.

I had a problem with IE 6 and having to hit refresh to be able to see the HFS webpages.

If you use HFS and go to any of the transfer screens and instead you get a blank white screen, the problem may be the coding in the html template.

I tried different templates until I ran into the grey one. It loaded everytime without error. The main difference was the below line. Just replace this line in the default template

 <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />

with this line

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">

Thanks.

Try 216.51.136.136:800 and see if it still works right.

Because anyone can upload files to my webserver. It seems pretty silly to have a password for everybody and post it on the main page. It would be less hassle to not have a username and password at all.

I do not know enough about css to edit one without a lot of time involved in trial and error.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: not working after restore from backup!
« on: November 20, 2007, 10:45:10 PM »
After switching out all of the NICs, switches and routers the only thing left was the dsl modem. I replaced that today and I still had the problem!

Upon calling isp tech support it was suggested I do a traceroute. after doing a traceroute to my domain and to a known other good website I was able to see it was dying at an ip address.

It turns out it is my isp. They are checking into it. My guess is that they made either a software or hardware change during the last 2 weeks that does not allow 2 ip addresses for the same mac address of the modem.

Nope, it isn't working by either method.

I am also having a potential problem with deleting some files and installing a program. Makes me wonder if it isn't in the permissions or policies.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / not working after restore from backup!
« on: November 15, 2007, 02:31:24 AM »
Howdy: I had a problem and then restored the drive from a backup. Now HFS doesn't work. I have ip traffic monitor running and it shows hits on port 81 which is correct but they aren't getting through.

I think it must be a w2k file that was not backed up because it was a hidden file or something.

Same with my apache webserver, it is getting hits but nothing getting through.

Anybody got any ideas?

I deleted my upload directory, redid my lan shares and then redid my directory and have solved the LAN issue on the drive.

The person sending the zip file has not resent it so I do not know about that.

Another person has uploaded and downloaded a video file without problem. I did get a "fully download" message. As far as I know the file is ok.

I guess time will tell.

What? I didn't recieve a file.

I will have to wait until she tries it again. The last time she uploaded about 30 files individually w/o problems.
